ECV "care?"

I wear braces when I go for long walks and use a cane for shorter ones, and I think the time has come for me to look into renting an ECV for my F&G trip that's coming up. I'm staying in a studio at the BCV, and wonder just what needs to be done to an ECV overnight. What sort of precautions in case of rain?

I'm not familiar with BVC, but typically you take your ECV into your room to recharge overnight. I have heard of pelple leaving an ECV under a plastic cover under the deck at the Treehouse villas (not sure where those are) as there are steps and no ramp.

As for using it in the rain, if rain looks at all possible, cover it with a poncho if you park it outside a restraunt, shop or ride. Always turn it off and take the key when you park it. If it's pouring cats and dogs, don't try to drive it, just take shelter. If it's a light rain, you just need to cover the tiller. Some companies include a shower cap type of rain cover, or you can take a shower cap from the bathroom, or drape your poncho over it. Be careful of puddles -- it is possible that they can splash up on the battery and cause problems. Not likely, but possible, so avoid big puddles if possible, or drive through extra slow.

At BCV, I thought that I saw an area outside, but undercover, where ECVs could be left overnight for recharging. As you go out the door of the BC in the direction of the bus stops, it was over to the right. Am I remembering wrong, or is that place no longer there?

The units at BCV all have indoor hallway entrances, like a typical hotel; and the building is about four stories (3-5, so about four ). It makes 100% more sense to bring the ECV into the studio or villa with you at night and plug it in indoors somewhere.

I bring mine into the room and we also rent a car to get around. Using Disney transportation with a ECV can be a pain and sometimes there is a line of chairs and ECVs waiting for the bus.

I have always taken my ecv into our room but the last two times I stayed at the Poly, you could hardly walk down the hallways becaused there were so many ecvs parked there and not in their rooms. Isn't that a fire hazard? I was surprised to see this happening.
