ECV and wheelchair decorating! Share ideas and photos

I know many people myself included are new to mobility issues or may be feeling uncertain about using an ECV or chair. Another thread inspired me to start looking for ideas. I've seen a few online but I know you guys are the best source! If you have ideas, products or photos will you please post them here so we can see them all at once?

What a great thread! i don't have pictures, but last October my sister and i put fairy wings on the backs of our seats. You can buy them at the Dollar or 99 Cent Stores. We got lots of positive comments. Looking forward to reading what others have done.

I don't have any pictures, but my sister's wheelchair has clear plastic wheel covers. I used some of those peel and stick wall decals (water proof) with tinkerbell and her fairy friends to decorate them. She gets compliments on them all of the time.

I put my Minnie earband on Mum's scooter as it didn't really fit my head. I did the same with my Sorcerer Mickey ears too in March. Made it look cute, although Mum said having Mickey staring at her all day was kind of creepy!

I have a fantasy about decking mine out like the electrical parade floats, however it would be costly and we won't be in the parks much at night. How fun would that be though?

I painted my 1st chair with nail polish on the back of the seat and the side guards. The chair I've had the last few years is getting a couple of painted seat covers, and proper lights! They are pink LEDs and we're putting them around the rims.

I haven't found too many items online marketed or made specifically for wheelchairs or ECVs. What a bummer! I've found some cool party lights, rope LEDs, the EL lights, battery operated Christmas lights of course. I found one mickey headrest cover on etsy. If anyone knows of any resources for items please link them here! If anyone has a photo of their own sign or decor please add.

I am going to be there for Halloween and the week after. I might do a nightmare before Christmas thing? Or fall? Or pick a character. So many possibilities!

Also..anyone surprised dosney hasn't found a way to make money off this and at least sell to the many ECV. Users that rent from them? I am kind of shocked!

Not the best picture as it was taken by PP as I moved it while my sister was meeting a character, but this is a simple decoration I did for my sister's rollator in 2010. I just did some Cricut Disney characters and laminated it.

I cannot find any pictures now, but for a local Christmas festival, I put garland and battery lights around the wheels of her wheelchair. It was a hit and helped me in some of the darker areas as we were getting to the booth we were working.

This reminded me that I need to personalize her wheelchair for our trips to Kings Island. It looks so similar to those the park rents that I do not want someone to grab it by mistake. Since we go so often I really need to get this done.

These are the ones we're trying to put on the rims, I have two boxes, they were really inexpensive at a craft shop.

Also for visibility I curl raver light slap bracelets on the bars of my chair (they fit nearly any size) for nighttime safety. similar to these...http://www.glowcity.com/Light-Up-Slap-Bracelets-p/led_slap_bracelets.htm

Not at all! If you choose to though you could bring decorations for Halloween and Christmas if you would rather- but Nightmare Before Christmas breaks those barriers, and is a fun theme to riff off of.

I love the ideas. My hubby is going to paint a pink and purple butterfly on the back of my mom's chair. We are going this September and it will be her first time using a chair on a trip!

My daughter has wings on the back of her wheelchair.
Most people probably don't notice them because she has a backpack also behind her.

She also has glow in the dark stars attached to her wheels and we've experimented with various kinds of lights.
She needs a bag under her seat for her catheter supplies, so the lights we were trying here were not too successful.
