My mom will have an ECV on our upcoming trip. last time we had a GAC card this time I am not sure how it works for her.

Do most rides still have a "special" line/lane for ECV riders? she don't ride many rides as her back can't handle the "jarring" effect. But she does enjoy the safari, and slow motion rides, and the shows.

She can stand for short periods, but can not do stairs At all.

Not sure if I need to get her a new card or not or if her being in the ECV is enough.

First, there's no more GAC. It's been replaced by the DAS, which she may or may notvget basedon her needs. There's a sticky thread on this forum that explains it; best to rwad that for a good understanding. If her issues are mobility-related, chances are the ECV will meet all her needs.

Most attractions are mainstreamed, so she can go through the line with everyone else. Some attractions are semi-mainsrtreamed, so guests enter the regular queue and are redirected part way through, like the Safari. A few rides have alternate entrances.

Always approach the Cast Members at the main entrance to the attraction for directions.

I was able to navigate through most of the queues at the parks in the ECV: there are a few exceptions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean where I had to go down with my walking stick. They don't give the DAC for mobility problems as their recommendation is to hire a wheelchair or scooter.

there are a few rides as Pirates that she will need to change to wheelchair which is there at the ride. there is a different load area at Toy Story so you do not have to do the steps but it can take longer to get on as only certain car come to that area

I know there isn't a GAC card any more.

My question was about ride ques. we are only doing rides we can do with fp.

And I remember the toy story que.. :)

So for most rides they have adapted lines to allow her to stay in her ecv through whole line?

And fantasmic is there an area where she can stay in her ECV? We already know we won't be able to stay together as a family as the kids want to get closer to the action.. and she just can't do stairs

We were there in the Fall after the changes. My BFF had mobility and needed an area out of the direct sun to wait. We were given a DAS card. We were able to get a time to come back to the ride entering through the FP line. The one area we had a problem was the Star Wars, there is an easier way to get in, the longer way was a challange with anxiety, like a cluster phobic reaction. But, one ride on that did her in, too much tossing.
With our FP if we show them the DAS there maybe a better way offered to get the ECV through, or wheel chair.

I booked our FP+ online and could change them with the IPhone MDE APs. I found the DAS a PIA.

We would use the FP+ but, often the travel time back to the attraction was to late to use it. It is for waiting in that area in the shade, so it could be a 60 minute wait.

I thought it may be nice to do Small World and get back to the Haunted Mansion, but it didn't work out very well. The second try we went to eat at Harbor house and Christmas shop staying close to the HM. I rebooked our FP for a later time, but we never made it to that attraction.

Over all the DAS was worth one ride a day, maybe two if not busy attractions. It was a lot of work, no spontaneous rides, frustrating to figure it all out overall. I Didn't even renew the AP, we doing cruises more often instead.

The spots at Fantasmic available for ECVs are the same ones for wheelchairs. As previously stated there are a limited amount of these spots available. The best option is to a Fantasmic meal package; because, you are guaranteed a special reserved area which includes the handicap spots. You still need to get there early to secure one of these spots. I find this to be one of the hardest shows to get a handicap spot.

I have seen a few scooter people park their scooters and walk to a seat close by. This is possible.

For some rides you need to park the scooter away from the ride somewhat and then walk back to the ride to get on. You may be able to get her closer to the ride on the scooter and board her and let someone else actually park the scooter for her. I would do the same at the end of the ride and get the scooter for her.

A wheelchair is allowed on the Safari ride and there is a ramp to do it. Scooters are not allowed on this ride. You have to park the scooter and then board the truck. There is a stair to board the truck; unless, they allow her to walk up the ramp as a wheelchair would do. This is in the front of the truck. If there is someone in a wheelchair using this area then you may be a lot of luck.
