DD7 and I *just* got back from 11 days at WDW and I'm already planning another Disney vacation. We had such a fabulous time that I am hooked! :lmao:

I'm trying to plan a trip to DL for early next year. It's been years since I've been and I can't remember what economy hotels are close (walking distance) to the entrance to the parks. So which of the "economy" good neighbor hotels did you choose?

TIA!:goodvibes

So, here is the list of official Good Neighbor hotels:

It's REALLY long, so here's some help:

HOJO's is really popular around here if they are offering the special entertainment rate during your dates, they are just a teeny bit farther than the others below, but still walkable easily.

I've stayed at the Clarion, but it is too far to walk in my opinion, and parking is expensive.

I have stayed at Camelot and Tropicana (owned by the same company) and prefer Tropicana, especially since it is closer and more modern.

Best Western Park Place Inn is basically as close as you can get to the main gate, so I'm booked there for a stay next month.

Not on the official list but also extremely close is the Park Vue Inn, which also gets decent reviews on these boards.

I know the Desert Inn and Suites and the Anaheim Plaza Hotel aren't on the 'official' list but i've stayed at both a couple of times and they are really close to the park, and very cheap! :flower3:

The list that sonnyjane supplied the link to of good neighbors hotels, are just hotels that Disney partners with to sell package trips. The hotels are not nessecarily close or cheapest, or good.

I would suggest using a site like hotels.com and looking at a map of hotels. All the hotels on Harbor across from the park are well within walking distance. They typically run from $50-$150 a night. A block west, or off Katella you can find many under $100 hotels. Some are fine some quite poor.

I'd look at a site like hotels.com and ask about hotels you see on there or what you need in a hotel.

Thanks for the tips everyone! :thumbsup2

I thought planning would be easier since I've been before. But it's been too long (pre-DLCA). I am feeling like a complete newbie! So, just warning you all....expect a lot of stupid questions from me! :rotfl:
