I know by watching this there aboard there a lot of you that sell stuff on Ebay . My question is when you are selling a high ticket item do people ever ask you to reduce the price for them or even the shipping ?

It is a High Priced item and the bidders keep asking if they are willing to not insure it will I sent it without . No of course not ! Why send a watch that is already worth more then I am getting on EBay with no insurance ??

Just needed to vent !!

They are trying to scam you. With no insurance or delivery confirmation they can say they never received the item and Paypal will side with them and refund the money.

Insurance is for the benefit of the seller - everything over $100 gets insurance for me. If you buy your shipping label via ebay you can actually buy insurance from Shipcover which is slightly cheaper than USPS insurance.

Of course it's a high priced item and buyers are complaining about the couple bucks that insurance costs, then the are bidders you don't want anyway.

After hundreds of thousands of online transactions, there is one thing I've learned. Paypal and the credit card companies are NEVER, EVER, EVER on your side. The burden of proof will ALWAYS be on you and you could have a video of the buyer receiving and opening a shiny new item. YES, that was the case with one of my buyers!!!!

The insurance is to protect YOU the seller, otherwise you will be out the item AND the money. Never give anyone the choice, if its a high dollar item pay for it yourself and chalk it up to the cost of doing business or bury it in the price. http://www.u-pic.com/ will insure a single package quite inexpensively and will quickly process claims should the need arise.

I get offered less than what I list for all the time! Not even expensive items - I mostly sell DD's outgrown clothes and do rock bottom prices just to get stuff out of the house.

No matter what price the item I sell for ends at I always mail with delivery confirmation. If the item is over $50 or delicate I always insure it - been burned before :sad2:
