Ebay question

I sold something on Ebay, the buyer wants a refund. Can I do this through paypal so I won't have to pay fees? Can I let Ebay know so that I can get final value fees back or anything? I've never refunded before, any tips will help. TIA!

First question, why does he want a refund?
You are under no obligation to refund, simply because of buyer remorse. Make sure that they send the item back before refund.

Yes you can refund through paypal and they will reverse the fee, but only if you do the refund money option.

For ebay, you need to file an unpaid item claim. Stating that you mutual decided not to go through with sale (or somthing simular), this way the buyer does not get dinged with a unpaid item strick.

He feels I misrepresented the item by not noticing a marking on it. I don't want to argue. I definetly will wait until I get the item back. Thanks for the tips!

I had something similar happen twice and both times they made the same odd comment about the condition of the item which I knew wasn't true. But, not being a confrontational person I said fine, send it back and I will refund your money. First time I never heard back from the seller. I assume they hoped that I would refund without requiring the item be returned. Second time they did send back the item and I clicked the Refund option from the transaction page on PayPal.

I think some people are just scammers hoping that a seller with perfect feedback will say, "Oh, just keep the item and I'll refund the price." You may or may not ever get the item back. Tell them to send it with a tracking number for their protection and yours.
