I bid on a Disney Dream auction item....

Beauty and the Beast package....I was the 3rd bidder out of 65 ...the auction is currently at $4650

Well I guess they accidently pulled the auction early....I got an email this am stating that the auction was accidently pulled early and it is open for bids again....

Not much of importance to me as my bid was just to bid on something...these prices are WAY out of my BUDGET.....any way ...

At about 1pm on Sunday Oct 10th....a ebay representive calls my house....caller id says it was EBAY to confirm that the email I recieved was legit.....and that the item is still currently up for action and to continue bidding.

I thanked him for his call...but I'm not bidding again....Guess EBAY made a little boo boo....

That was really nice of EBAY to call you and notify you so that you are not in the dark wondering if the email was true or not.
Wow, that is an expensive package  .

I got information on this auction (I assume it's the same, anyway) since I have a Disney Visa. After looking over the items that would be up for bid, I didn't even bother to sign up as I knew they'd all be out of my budget. Now I kind of wish I had signed up just to see how high the bids get.

I think you can still sign up and watch. I bought a couple of pins. I got an email yesterday saying that Disney had not followed the rules of eBay and had cancelled some of the pin auctions I had bid on. They said the items would be put back up for auction once Disney complied with eBay terms. I don't know what is going on. Maybe eBay is having networking problems.

Yesterday, you couldn't get in to look at the auctions at all. Today they are back. The one I was interested in is now over $6000. Guess I won't be winning anything!

I think it is because disney is breaking alot of ebay rules that we (the average joe) would not be able to. They blatant-ly state that

DISCLAIMER: Disney Auctions does not provide replacements for any of our exclusive, limited-edition collectibles, and we reserve the right to cancel any order at our discretion, for reasons including but not limited to insufficient inventory or noticeable defects in the individual item to be shipped.

If I am correct this is definately not in compliance with ebay's policy.

I've been keeping an eye on some of the Disney ones, and it's amazing how expensive they get! The 14-night DCL cruise is now up to $18,000! There's also a "Princess for the Day" which is basically 2 nights at the GF with 1/2 spa, ride down Main St in Cindy's carriage, and being the grand marshal in the parade... selling for TEN thousand dollars!
