ebay help needed now?

How do I tell if an email is not really from ebay? I received this in my email today...

We regret to inform you that your eBay account could be suspended if you don't resolve your problems. Please click here and login into your account in order to resolve your problems. If they could not be resolved your account will be suspended for a period of 3-4 days, after that it will be again operational.

Per the User Agreement, Section 9, we may immediately issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us. We may also take these actions if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us.

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.

Please note that this suspension does not relieve you of your
agreed-upon obligation to pay any fees you may owe to ebay.

It goes on requesting registration information. I don't know that I did anything wrong and I am very concerned, as I just got my blue star for 50 feedbacks.

It is not from ebay..it has been going around for a long time. When you click on their link, a page will come up that looks just like an eBay page..and they will ask you to input your password. eBay will NEVER ask for your password in an email...only when you go to eBay yourself, and sign in.

You can forward it to eBay if you want..but they know about it. You ought to see the fake Paypal one..wow, it is really good!

looks like a scam email. You should NOT answer it and get on ebay. They ask that you forward it to spoof@ebay.com and read the following thread. It gives a lot more detail. Good luck! http://forums.ebay.com/db1/thread.jsp?forum=102&thread=148967&ssPageName=CMDV:IC0318

This was my first, and thank goodness I knew about the spam emails before entering any information. I forwarded the email to ebay and changed my password...hopefully I'll remember what it is the next time I log-in!

eBay. We are very concerned about this problem and are working
diligently to address the situation. We have investigated the source of
this email and have taken appropriate action. You may rest assured that
your account standing has not changed and that your listings have not
been affected.
