Ebay Etiquette Question - WWYD?

I have some Disney Baby figurines listed on eBay. I had listed them previously as a lot with no interest, so I decided to list them separately. I had someone email me asking me for a buy it now price on 5 of the 9 pieces. They have already placed a bid on one of the items.

How should I handle this? I'm fairly new to eBay, and I'm not sure I even know how to cancel, then do buy it now. :confused3

I'm not sure whether you can do it to the item that already received a bid, but when you log in to eBay and look at your own listing, you can modify it. You do have to go through several "pages" of work before the change is finished, and there is an extra fee for buy-it-now.

I have gone through and added buy it nows, when requested and a purchase price is settled on, on items that have received no bids. You can do anything if there have been no bids.

I think on that one, you could cancel their bid or the could withdraw their bid and then do so. Since it is their own bid.

I sell on Ebay all the time and i guess if the price they are willing to pay is something your willing to take than go ahead and group the items into one buy it now.
You can cancel bids on any item. I've done this alot of times in order to group items into Buy It Nows.

I would settle on a price with them and do one auction for the lot they want.

You can cancel their existing bid.

I never do this once an item has been listed at auction. This has happened many times to me and I explain that I don't think it's fair to change the 'game' after it's started.

I would not cancel the bids and change the auction. What if you go through all of that and put the "buy it now" on the auction and the person does not come through and buy it? Then you are stuck with the original listing fee, plus the new listing fee with the added fee for buy it now.
I see no rush in getting this item, it's not a holiday or anything. Tell the interested party that you are not changing the auction and wish them luck in winning the items they want. :lovestruc

I agree with this, I wouldn't change the auctions for this person. I just don't trust people on eBay, and as Ellen said if you change the auctions & then the person doesn't come through you'll be stuck paying the extra fees and possibly having the items not sell again. I'd just politely tell her you don't feel comfortable changing the auctions at this point and she is welcome to bid on the other ones she's interested in. If you haven't already done so in your listings, tell her you will combine shipping for her if she wins multiple items. Good luck, I hope she buys them!
