Ebates and the Orbitz mobile app

Went in through Ebates on my mobile phone and went to Orbitz and logged in there. Could not recieve the 5% in Orbitz bucks this way. Went back and just went in to my Orbitz app and was able to get the 5% Orbitz bucks.

Guess they don't want you using both. Ugh. Anyone else been able to do such?

You're trying to double-dip. Sometimes it works but most of the time, it doesn't. This is definitely a case where it doesn't. Orbitz wants you to use their app, that's why there's an extra incentive to use it vs. booking through a shopping portal like ebates or directly online through their own website. You'll just have to choose which method gives you the best bang for your bucks.

I was about to respond in your other thread asking about Orbitz Rewards is that one of the problems with the app is that you can't use ebates.

The better deal when you book (ebates+Orbitz Web vs. Orbitz app) will depend on whether there is a special ebates offer or not and/or whether you would rather get some real money or only orbitz bucks. Ebates only pays 1% on prepaid hotels (which is what Disney hotels are), so unless there is a special, you may be better off using the app.

This is what I figured it was. Went ahead and just used their mobile app to get back 5%. What I don't understand is they said on the site they gave back 1.7% back on pre-paid hotels. Then there was a 2X cash back today button on it. So would I have gotten 1.7% or 3.4%?
