Hi All,I'm wondering if there would be any interest in a Treasure or Scavenger Hunt on one of the sea days. I'd love to put one together but want to make sure there is enough interest first. /QUOTE]

sounds great! count me in!

What other vacations does everyone have planned prior to the cruise? We are going to Hawaii in May and I am trying to plan Disneyworld in August staying off site at my parents time share to save $.

~Ingrid

We're going to WDW in late April/early May. I can't WAIT! It feels like forever since we got to spend some time in the parks, even though we were there for a few days last October. We only got to do the PC cruise and ONE night at the Pirate and Princess Party this year. It looks like the same thing will happen for us in 2010 since the repo cruise is so long, but we'll make the best of our 2009 trip!

Otherwise, DH and I are looking at maybe doing a New England/Eastern Canada cruise next fall. We have a lot of NCL gift certificates to use up. We just have to figure out what works best for our schedules. There's actually a repo from NYC to Miami that looks really good (and we'd only have to spring for airfare in one direction) but I'm not sure DH is going to be able to get off enough days next year so that we could do that and WDW.

If you find it along the way could you please remember to snag it for me??? I'd love to have a copy of it and I don't know where mine went... thanks!!! :)

No problem!

We all started just by keeping in touch here and by the time the cruise came around we were friends... on the cruise we became good friends and some of us even considder us family... :grouphug:

The Dis is a wonderful place to meet people, I too have met some wonderful people from all over that I will stay in contact with. I hope to get to know all of you better as well. :goodvibes

OK...

.. I'm just swinging through briefly ta say 'ello .... and share a little news which might save you some moola .... IF you live in or near Southern Calirfornia ... or if you're planning a visit to SoCal in December....

... This should save your family about $100+ depending upon how many go (and how often). Knotts and Magic Mountain have again run thier Toys' for Tots program offerring free admittance for a dontated toy. We're entertaining proposals for when you might want to go. The more the merrier, eh? The simple details and dates are as follows.

Magic Mt. has free admission for an unwrapped new toy VALUED at $15 on Dec 7th, 13th & 14th.
Knotts is December 6-7, 13-14, and 20-21 with a $10 unwrapped toy.

At KBF you save $42-52 per adult and $22 per child or senior. Here is the link to KBF web page - it is MIS-catagorized at the BOTTOM of this page in the section for FALL and not WINTER. http://www.knotts.com/park/calendar/index.asp

Tatsu5.jpg

At Magic Mountain you'll save $59 per adult and $29 per child over age 2 and under 48". Here is the link for Magic Mountians' page on this event. http://www.sixflags.com/magicMountain/events/Toysfortheholidays08.aspx NOTE athat at Magic Mountain they have a potential security issue since they've got an obvious sheriff's office at the gate with an imposing row of airport style metal detectors (2 dozen?). It seems they've had gang members bringing weapons into the park to fight before. I've heard 3 gangs claim magic Mountin as inside "thier" terriroty... so occassionally there are "disagreements". However, for the time being Magic Mountian has the biggest and baddest roller coasters in Southern Cal.

Cheers,

What do you do david(only if you wish to share) (and you dont have to shoot me!)?

I don't mind sharing what I do, I'm a dancer:banana: and ladies put dollar bills in my no...no...no...no...no...no...no that's not right. Did I say that out loud?!?!???:confused3 :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I guess that only happens in my dreams!!!! Really, no really I am the head estimator at a commercial printing company in Clearwater Florida. That's just a fancy way of saying when the ol' bossman goes on vacation I have to take over and act like an idiot!!!!! (It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it!!!) It is kinda of fun telling the others what to do!!!! (At home that's :worship: DW's job. I only get to tell the dog what to do!!!!!)
Well, breaks over, got to get back to work. :sad1: Talk to one and all again soon.:yay:

I haven't posted much as work gets in the way, but I've enjoyed catching up and "listening" in on the current conversations.

I think the scavenger hunt sounds fun and would be interested.

I saw something about fish extender gift exchange on Crafty's site. What are fish extenders?

Any crusiers going to Mousefest this December? I'll be there and would enjoy meeting others from this cruise if possible.

It's sort of like Hamburger Helper or Tuna Helper.

Actually, outside every cabin, on the door post there is a note clip that looks like a fish.

The fish extender can be many things, from something like a Christmas stocking to something that hangs down with pockets. It allows people to leave you little gifts, goodies and notes providing more space than the fish note clip does - thus it "extends" the fish.

Ideas for FE gifts Ian????

How're we gonna sneak that stuff on to the ship??? :rotfl:

Depends on how many Gideon bibles I can sneak out of the hotel the night before...

Sorry I'm leaving my Sarah Brown Salvation Army togs at home... sorry... ;)

Molly still has hers from Guys and Dolls, shall I ask her for her favorite hymn??? Something about SIT DOWN YOU'RE ROCKING THE BOAT :rotfl2:

We're having a sing-a-long one night... show tunes... I'd recommend South Pacific... but it's the wrong ocean... :rotfl2:

I thought we were giving away hymnals.

Wow...

.... We're south of ya in Westlake Village... and I am sorry for your parents misfortune... however it is fortunate they did not lose more than they did. It could have easily been the whole house.

I wonder... was it that the fire men worked to save the house or was it something else? Did your parents save the house themselves or with the help of friends/neighbors?

my parents r in their late 70's-early 80'(they had evacuated cause my dad has lung problems and my mom still had to drag him to the car to get him to go), a neighbor went and got firemen, they were just hanging out at the top of the street and not patrolling.
the firewall between the garage and the house is what really save it but it still took firefighters to put it out.
