Morning, I just realized that the week before the cruise will most likely be our schools spring break. Now I don't need to worry about Logan missing the Friday before for the flight! I figured if I tried to switch to the redeye I would lose our great flight price.

Crystal! Yes Athena really wants to meet Cassidi. They were supposed to meet in the club the first day of the PC cruise but Athena got overwhelmed by the club. It was way too hot and loud for her. It would be great for Athena to have a buddy on the cruise. She didn't visit the kids clubs at all on the PC and got a bit bored of hanging out with us near the end....

Michelle! I have encouraged Logan to email Patrick but the kids is a serious procrastinator...he'll get to it at some point :)

Does he have a Wii? They could also communicate that way (thanks to TnRobin for the idea!). If you want to PM me with Logan's email address I can have Patrick start the ball rolling.

My gosh I know...we got a huge deal on airfare...only about $900 extra on top of the cruise price for 2 adults from PA to FL then back from Barcelona to PA.

Hey, another Pittsburgher. I am going solo for this cruise. Or at least as solo as you can be when you are sailing with however many of my best Dis Friends are on this cruise. I think I will be flying down the day before the cruise and staying at the Hyatt. I don't like the idea of flying down the day of departure.

Hi,

I was lurking the boards and internet for trip reports and all kind of info about the EB TA from 2007 and look what i found!!!!!!

I think a lot of this info is still usefull for this upcoming cruise......

Yeah i know, i'm a Obsessive Compulsive Disney Trip Planner.....:dance3:

You and me bothe Yvet. But you already know that about me since you listen to the podcast too. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Are you and Wilson planning a mother and son running with the bulls? I hear that's very popular.

Why of COURSE (not) that whole thing makes me rather sick to my stomach.

How are you today??? Thinking of you guys

iankh,

Is that a Tammy and Bud dolls in your avatar picture? If so, I have a Tammy at home my grandfather gave me when I was little.

What side do you think will be better?

Going East if ur Port will cabin will be facing North most of the time.

What about CC? What side usually? Fireworks show in Barcelona? Through the Straights?

We have always had Port cabins....but thinking of switching this time to a Starboard?

What does everyone think?

I chose port this time as I think since we will be headed into the Med going east, the good stuff will be on the port side. Typically the starboard side faces Castaway Cay. I could be wrong, but that was my rationale.

I was wondering about the possibility of a cabin upgrade. I understand this is totally random and I am not unhappy with the cabin I currently had been assigned. I was just wondering. I have a cat 11 booked, so I was curious.

It will all depend on how much availability there is. They often oversell the Category 11s. They will also often offer 12s at greatly reduced prices when they have a lot of rooms left to fill. Then they upgrade, as needed, to put everyone in a cabin. The upgrades are completely random. Sometimes you get bumped up if you have a GTY reservation and sometimes not. Sometimes you get bumped up if you have an assigned stateroom, and sometimes not. There is no rhyme or reason as to how DCL does their upgrades.

If you get to cruise time and haven't been upgraded you can always check at the port to see if you can pay for an upgrade. Doing it at the port is often much cheaper than doing it beforehand, but you will be limited to availability at that time.

Hi Ingrid,
Cassidi didn't hang out much in the kids club either .She preferred hanging out with a friend she met before had on disboards and going to movies together ,getting ice cream etc. So it sounds like they have similar interest
that way.

I have to stop turning on MSNBC or CNN in the morning. All this economy talk is starting to make me think I am crazy for planning a cruise to Europe!

But, I am excited to do it anyway....my rationale is I can cancel all the way up to 120 days out.

Ohhhh try going to sleep with CNBC Europe on... I have to watch the markets over there for work... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I will pack the band-aids... ;)

Uh oh... Tammy has a twin? Don't tell Planky...:lmao:

Were they even selling Cat 12's this cruise?

so if they upgrade me from my cat 3 can i get a cat 1????????

Just checking in to say hi to everyone and "welcome aboard" to the newcomers!

I still haven't done ANYTHING to start looking into the ports for the cruise, but we did all get our cruise confirmations in the mail this week. Woohoo! Getting it on paper made it seem so much more real :)

Hi there -- I'm wondering if it's still possible to transfer our ressie to Dreams Unlimited even though we have the glitch airfare. Or would that count as a change and would lose us the airfare? I'm only considering it for the OBC and I'd hate to try to gain a little and lose a lot.

It should be fine...We were able to book the glitch airfare, and we then transfered to Dreams just fine!!!

What's the OBC for transferring to DU? Is it the same as what's listed for booking with them? I know their deal ends this month so I'd better get in gear and get my 2009 cruise transferred over.

Hello! I just got off of the wonder and I booked this cruise while on board. We may have to rethink this if the kids spring break is not during the cruise. This will be our first TA and the kids first trip to Europe. :woohoo:

Jackie... it's only $200 per stateroom... I guess cause it's such a cheaper cruise...
