OK! Who else is considering (or committed) to sail the MAGIC from PC to Barcelona?

I think the starting rates of $999 for TWO WEEKS embarked to exotic ports far away is neigh irresistible! A simple round trip for us from LA to Orlando and a one way back to Orlando from somewhere with a cheap flight from Barcelona (or Barcelona) sounds good! We have spring break about then which should soften the blow in terms of lost school time for our young kids.

Here is a link to a semi-private off DIS web site for this sailing ...

The webmaster (Edmartin) has generously volunteered to provide this for our community!
All Ed wants is a keg of Rum from each DIS cabin in return....

OK... I was just kidding about the KEG ... just slip Ed a 5th and we'll call it "even"....

So who's up to head out onto the high seas come April of 2010!!!

Uh, Captain.....this would be Eastbound. You've been playing on the WB thread too much! :lmao:

This one is on my 'to be considered' list...which is narrowed down to three cruises...and I want them all!

This is our number 1 pick right now!! How's the weather on the Atlantic in April?
Also, are we crazy to cruise for 2 weeks with three kids ages 11, 3, and 1?

I would love to do this but the airfare from Barcelona back to L.A. for our family of 4 is scaring the daylights out of me!! :scared1:

You are not the only crazy one, EMTMOM, as we'll be pulling our 3 school age children (ages 3,5 and7) out for two weeks as well. We'd originally wanted the Baltic cruise, but wow, the price difference between the two!! Also, I think the TA will be a lot more relaxing and fun for the little ones, who really wouldn't appreciate the European ports as much. I'm also sure that when the new DCL boats arrive, they will have this itinerary again and might hopefully be a bit less expensive!

As for the weather, might be a bit chilly during the crossing (see trip reports for EB TA in May/07) but they picked more Southern ports in Europe for our cruise than the EB TA in '07, so I think will be warmer, but probably not hot....most likely 70's.

Hope to see more people signing on to this thread...I'm excited already and it's 2 years away!!:goodvibes

We would pull our kids, then 14 and 10 out for this cruise too! I looked at one way airfare from Barcelona for this April and :scared1: over $1,000 per person!

We are considering this cruise as well. It will be myself, my DH, DD-19 at time of sailing, DS- will turn 20 onboard, DD-6 and mom and dad. I am very excited and hope we get the ressies we want.

I just wrote the e-mail to our TA for her to book us on this cruise Tuesday morning. We were also hoping to do the Baltics but on seeing the rates my eyes almost popped out of my head!

We have two small boys who will be aged 6 and 3 at the time of the cruise so we also thought that it would be hard to drag them around the European ports. I think they'll probably have way more fun on the ship.

We were just on a DCL Mexican Riviera cruise in May and we had a great time so I can't wait till April 2010!! :yay:

So has anyone booked, yet? I booked online this morning for Myself, DBF Tim, and his father! Got 1st tier pricing...It's amazing we are paying more for our 7night this April then this cruise!

We're booked, too! Will deal with airfares at a later date. I'll see what the stateroom cost is when onboard the Wonder in three weeks, if rebooking makes sense. Just wish there had been one or more additional port calls - maybe an additional Caribbean on departure, and maybe a second in England before Barcelona. Well, land touring afterwards, I guess, to wherever Amex points will fly us home from:)

Congrats! I am so looking forward to this trip! As far as the land touring, I don't know how much we will be able to do, based on our children we are leaving behind and available vacation time.

I just booked my parents on this cruise. I was happy with the add on pricing for airfare. It was about $5600 for 2 adults with airfare without insurance for a cat 7. It would probably cost $2400 for airfare roundtrip to Barcelona from PIttsburgh for 2 people so I thought this sounded like a good deal. I don't think I would have encouraged them to book if the airfare was not reasonable.

We booked this morning! I was very happy with the pricing- it seems we got the first tier, and both the deck we wanted (with three cabins almost next to each other) and early dining. My family is SO excited for this cruise. We did the WB PC cruise this year and LOVED it.

Hi there, I found you (finally)

I booked for myself (Nan) and my son (Wilson, 10 at time of cruise). At home will be Dad (Paul) and Big Sister (Molly). I think she will be a bit sad when she learns that this trip is just me and her brother :sad2:

Glad to have a trip to look way forward too :goodvibes

I booked this morning! Our family has three kids (ages 7, 4, and 3 when we sail) and the grandparents are coming too.

Welcome aboard!! We'll have a bunch of kids along too! My siblings will be 12 and 6 (almost 7) when we go, and my daughter will be 4. I'm expecting a baby boy in a couple of months, and he'll be about 14 months old when we travel.
DH and I are in our early 30s, my brother and his wife are around the same age, and then my parents are coming along too :)

Oh Nan, I know what you mean. My 18 year old sister won't be able to come along this time, because of her college classes. She's pretty bummed, but she's the only one in the family who's been to Europe (and twice!) so she'll be fine!

Molly and I took a girls trip to China summer 2007, so I'm not feeling too guilty. It would be too hard for her to miss school. Wilson I'm sure will be sailing (ha, pun) thru as he does now, so he I'm not worried about missing school. And I like the idea of having this special time to ourselves to enjoy.
