We are British also and have eaten at Rose and Crown- one of the most disappointing meals of our trip! The food was not authentic and probably aimed more at American tastes. The mash for example wasn’t like ours- more artificial and had bits of bacon in it. I wouldn’t spend your money when you can get much more authentic food at home, and try somewhere else instead.

Yes, we do not eat in America. I won't eat at Tutto Italia either (my grandparents are from Italy and I grew up eating INCREDIBLE Italian food.)
