Can anyone tell me what the food is like at inventions, l have two teenagers who are really fussy eaters, and wont eat sea food or spicy food, and l did not want to book and pay a high price if there is nothing there for them many thanks
Honestly the food for me wasn't great but then that's because I don't eat fish or seafood and there was A LOT of it there. For what was left over I'm not sure I'd bother paying the money again as there wasn't much choice (main meal wise) other than that.
Having said that the character interaction was fantastic and it's a lot less busy and manic than Cafe Mickey so my daughter got real quality time with all her pals. In particular her first meeting with Mickey Mouse (ever) was so special because she had him all to herself, literally brought tears to both mine and hubby (biggest Disney sceptic ever)'s eyes. They spent ages with her which was AMAZING and I would have paid the money all over again just for that.
If you do eat fish and seafood it is well worth the money as the choice they had was fab but if you don't it's probably not worth it.
we were there last Sunday. Yes, sea food selection is huge. I didn't bother myself with it as I don't like it. I do tried fish, it was very good, different fish, different cooking. There also was pork, lamb, veal, pasta, chicken, pizza, meat balls, potatoes - variety was very good and much better choise than lets say in Plaza gardens. Oh, the dessert section is just a dream. Will upload pictures later, so you might get a better idea.
We ate here for DD 18th birthday on 15th March and I liked it. There was a good selection of fish, meats, salads and desserts. I did enjoy the large prawns and crab claws but both DD and DS 14 had food mainly from the kids selection.
DD did have a crab claw and she was the only one to have a chicken strip from the kids area, and then she was violently sick at 2.30am. This was sudden and severe and lasted until about 5am so we assume it was food poisoning. It's easy to blame the crab claw but we wonder if it was the chicken as we spoke to another family whose little girl had been also been sick after eating here.
Saying that, I did like it and would eat here again as the characters were great and our server was excellent and coordinated Minnie with DD birthday cake very well.
Thanks for the replies, fish is a no no for they wont touch it, and l always get worried about the chicken as my daughter was sick for 3 days once, and l think this is what makes them nervous about eating it was very unpleasant for everyone, so still undecided what to do.
We've always thoroughly enjoyed the food at Inventions. Even allowing for not liking seafood or spicy food I think there's plenty of variety for your DDs as there's lots of choice within just the starter section with cold meats and salads. There's no disputing that it is expensive and I don't think you really get your money's worth if you don't eat the seafood or the fancier offerings but remember that you're also paying for the characters in the price and our character interaction at Inventions has always been very good.
