My husband and I are planning to drink around the World Showcase in a few weeks, and I thought it would be fun to sample some food treats at the same time (so we don't have to crawl home!) So, what are your favorite SNACKS/light meals/treats in each country? Thanks!!!!!!

The first yummy thing we had in Epcot, not in the WS, was a fantastic soft pretzel from one of those carts. Wow, it was warm, had just the right amount of salt, was just soft enough, and BIG enough for 3 of us to share.

I highly recommend choosing a few chocolates from the little store in Italy. We just picked the ones with the prettiest wrappers, and it was some of the tastiest chocolate I've ever had.

You absolutely must try a Beavertail from the cart in Canada. We got ours with the chocolate hazelnut spread. Again, something big enough for three of us to share. Heavenly!

Fish & Chips in England.

Dessert in France.

Funnel Cake in America!

Chips and Salsa in Mexico!

Tabouli in Morocco.

Anything from France

Churros in Mexico

Norway- sandwiches & deserts

China- egg roll

Germany - Bratwurst & saukraut

Im with you Guys...thats what we do...We start off at Mexico to get out frozen Margarita's usually 2.. Then its off to Canada for a few Labatts...When we hit UK..We get the fish & chips at Rose & Crown pub..and watch the Beatles sing outside...Followed up by eating some chinese food in China..its actually very good..Try doing this everynight for 8 nights...you will glad you have to walk everywhere and not drive !!! Good Luck

We tried that on our last trip, but filled up dismayingly quickly. However, I can recommend the sandwiches at Norway, as well as the rice cream (yummmm!).

I am loving all your suggestions, but the stakes just went up! I have convinced one of the other couples to join us on Beer Around the World Showcase. Now, suddenly, I really need the best of the best treats, because this is one of those couples that thinks my interest in Disney World is just a little bit weird. She is, however, excited about the Beer Around the World Showcase idea... SO, help me WOW her!! :earsgirl:

we tried to do this, but filled up way too quickly. We had nachos and churros in Mexico. The best egg rolls I think I ever had in the little take out restaurant in China. Fish and chips and beer in England. Then went back to China for more egg rolls.

All of the desserts in France in France are wonderful, either the pasteries, the mousse, or the crepes. I've also got to put in a good word for the gellato in Italy and the baklava from the Tangerine Cafe in Morocco.

This is so funny to me that so many other people do the same thing we do in Epcot. However, instead of trying to eat full meals, our family of 4 (2adults, 2kids) purchases 1 snack to share from each of the countries. My favorite was the almond pretzel from Norway. It's a little hard not to let everyone eat to their heart's content, but knowing there's another stop ahead, makes it easier and kind of exciting to see what we can try next. Also, with kids, there's many stops they have no interest in.

What a great idea, to order just one snack in each country to share! I guess, since we will be with another couple, we will need to buy two snacks, but that works as well!

Thanks for the great ideas!

While I would love to drink around the World I don't think it would be much fun for the kids:p Maybe my dh and I could split a drink and pace ourselves:tongue: I like the idea of trying something different in each country to snack on. Who knows maybe our kids would be adventurous. Knowing them they will probably only want the sweets from each country. I also read that someone had fun doing chocolate around the world. That sounds yummy to me.

Since we are leaving in 8 days, I thought I would try for a few more responses. Thanks for all the great info!!!!!!!

Now your talking! Beer around the world is my kind of day. Here are my favorites:

England - Harp, Tennents, Guinness, Bass (Take your pick)

Norway - Ringnes (Yum)

Germany - Becks Dark

Mexico - Dos Equis dark

Canada - Labatts

China - Tsing Tau

Japan - Kirin

Have not tried other countries. Any other suggestions???
