Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

Love the parade pics!!! DD just watched Monsters Inc. for the first time last week and she is getting Up for Christmas. She will love that parade next year. Can't wait to see where you go that is yummy.

great parade shots

Thanks - That was the whole parade so now anyone who does not have time to see it can just scroll through. It as about that quick.

"Quick as a flash" mob..... :rotfl:

I came up onthe dancig late but it possible that the mob was longer than the parade.:rotfl:

Monsters Inc is cute and I like them in the parade.
I really need to get a move on it to finish up before the next trip. I am in the teens. :cool1:

I have just watched the Pixar Pals run down the block.

My next destination

IMG_1284.jpg

I was hungry and I figured it was an off time so I headed to

IMG_1285.jpg

I was seated at the counter. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries. Shortly after the plate was put in front of me

IMG_1286.jpg

That was all that was left. I guess I was hungry. It was a good burger and I would get it again. It hit the spot.

I got to see not one Kitchen Sink

But 2.

IMG_1288.jpg

This was mine

IMG_1289.jpg

Not sure why it says TRINK Coke.

I wandered over to my new “home”

IMG_1298.jpg

There’s Ariel girl

IMG_1299.jpg

I walked around a bit but I guess I did not take any pictures. I did come back another day to really see the place. I walked through the secret private entrance and went back here.

IMG_1300.jpg

Crowds for the day before the F & W officially opened.

IMG_1301.jpg

I thought the booths would have an early opening and they were but the lines were there and well I just ate. I thought of the festival having an early opening as I entered EPCOT. D’oh.

As I walked I got some of the signs. The festival is over now but here is some of what was offered.

IMG_1302.jpg

They had these QR codes on the signs.

IMG_1303.jpg

I tried it with my phone but the content was not easy to see or read and it was mostly what was on the sign. Not sure if I am just a spaz or what but I couldn’t really get the point of the code if I really did not get new information.

IMG_1304.jpg

IMG_1305.jpg

I think this booth was the hit of the festival.

IMG_1308.jpg

IMG_1309.jpg

Do I eat, drink or move on? I have a plan

Hey, I thought you said you ordered a cheeseburger?! :rotfl2:

I've never been to B&C, but it looks good!

I think this booth was the hit of the festival.

IMG_1308.jpg

Ooo, those do sound intriguing. What's a longboard and pipeline?

Do I eat, drink or move on? I have a plan

Something tells me there has to be some eating and drinking in this plan!

Great update, Pat. I have got to get to Beaches & Cream with Mark next trip...everytime I see the food, I start drooling.

Enjoyed seeing some of the menus from F&W...another thing we've never done.

That cheeseburger was gone fast. :lmao: I needed bothe hands to handle the burger so I never got my hands on the camera.

Beer- I bet Cynthia could tell us a bit about those. I have not seen her around much lately. :scratchin

Oh there was but did I do it then or save it for another day?

Put it on your list. It was a great meal. :thumbsup2

You need to stay into the first few days of Oct. You would love F&W.

Pat - we were at Epcot too that day. It looks like we could have run into each other many times on this trip. We found out later that it was a pre-opening for cast members. It was a lot more crowded than last year the day before official opening. We had a great time hitting many of the kiosks, and let me just say how happy we were that we could leave the driving to the monorail driver.:rolleyes1

We were going to eat at Beaches and Cream on our December 2008 trip but the wait was an hour and we had to get to EPCOT, so we passed. I want to try it one day....I hear the burgers are delicious. And it's obvious the desserts are drool-worthy.

IMG_1305.jpg

IMG_1308.jpg

We stopped at both of these. We got the dessert trio and the white chocolate macadamia mousse with the dark chocolate pearls was to die for. The pork slider was also delicious, although I could have used more of the chutney.

Here's a tip for those of you wanting to do F&W in the future: go on a week day. Ray and I went on Saturday and Wednesday this past trip and we discovered that prices were higher on Saturday. I wasn't pleased.

Mmmm...Beaches & Cream...good stuff there.

Am I missing something? I didn't see the "Trink Coke" you referred to. :confused3

F&W looks like fun. I figure any chance to get more Canadian cheddar soup is a good thing. :thumbsup2

Pat must have missed putting the "TRINK COKE" picture up, but it's on the Coke fountain at Beaches & Cream. We noticed it one trip too! It's very odd... instead of "DRINK" it's TRINK!

One of my favorite sections of Beach Club. So pretty!

I love that area since it is usually so quiet and calm and I look out the window and see the chaos of the pool.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the picture.

There are so many MeMomism ( or really Brooklynisms) that I think about when I see certain things. :goodvibes

Disney Transportation is great for Food and Wine.:lmao: I have heard they usually do the preopening for cast members the day before but I was not thinking about it that day until I walked in. :headache:

I had no wait. Going at off times seems to be the key. I am glad I finally went and I will be back.

During the week is always less crowded but I did not know they raised prices for the weekend. Hmmmm Now I have absolutley no guilt passing up those booths on the weekends.

Between Photobucket being mean and the DIS being impossible I am lucky I got that post up at all. :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, I thought I got the link up there but it didn't go. I have fixed it so thanks for telling me. So anyone who is reading now, they are not crazy they really didn't see it.:lmao:

Here it is again so you don 't have to go back.
Thanks Brook for making me not look crazy.

Oh yes, the cheddar soup is one of the great things about F & W. One of teh many- you really need to try to plan a trip during that time.

No eating and drinking tonight. I start my way to future world.

IMG_1310.jpg

What do we have here??? A Cranberry Bog

IMG_1311.jpg

IMG_1312.jpg

Apparently I had a mission in mind. After passing the bog I took this.

IMG_1313.jpg

Anybody recognize where this was taken???

I will let you know but not now.

My next picture is of this.

IMG_1314.jpg

I did have a mission but it only involved cutting through EPCOT. The picture of Pluto is by the character connection so I guess I cut through there too. I picked up a FP to Soarin’, and headed out to the monorail. I was planning on being back but I had something to do.
At the Poly, the peekie tiki in the window is only fully visible during the day. I mostly visit at night to catch the EWP and the fireworks. A special trip was needed to get a picture of the tiki.
There he is.

IMG_1315.jpg

My mission was complete and I know I did some shopping. I think the loot was a Poly print for the “office” at the house, earrings and a pin. I also picked up a Beach Club, Yacht Club and Boardwalk print.

I decided some day shots of the castle, CR and GF were in order.

IMG_1318.jpg

IMG_1319.jpg

GFpano.jpg
.

It was about 6:30 so I made my way back to EPCOT.

I love when I discover these.

IMG_1326.jpg

I walked back to the TTC and caught a monorail back to EPCOT.

I entered and could not resist a ride on SE.

Dig those Go-Go boots

IMG_1344.jpg

IMG_1346.jpg

IMG_1347.jpg

IMG_1350.jpg

My future involved being underwater too but since I was wearing that helmet, I figured I would spare MeMom the shock and feeling of suffocation.
I exited and as I passed the fountain I got this shot. I thought the lighting made it interesting.

IMG_1352.jpg

Evidence of the before mentioned FP to Soarin’ . It was time to use that baby.

IMG_1367.jpg

Just because

IMG_1368.jpg

After my ride, I walked over towards Mexico to catch Illuminations. I felt I needed a do-over since I did not get the full effect the last time.

I was lugging my purchases and I know I grabbed a margarita because I was having to juggle everything to make sure I did not spill my drink. That was also when I noticed I was down 1 credit card :scared:

Usually I have charging privileges put on the key card but this time I didn’t. Discover was giving 5% for food in Oct. and I would be using my Visa with reward miles for everything else. Being it was not Oct. yet I tried to pull out the VISA and it was not there. No worries I must have put it somewhere else, like with my park tickets etc. I paid using the Discover and then when I made my way to somewhere to put my bags and drink down I began to tear apart everything looking for that card.

Of course I had been doing some shopping but only using the one card for the purchases, I deduced that the CM at Boutiki gave me back my receipt- I had that but did not hand me back my card. As most CMs are careful to hand you back both at the same time. No card.

OK – I know where it should be- at Boutiki. The alternative – that I did get it back and then dropped it along the way. That was too stressful to think about.

I was standing by the bridge in Mexico. It was close to fireworks time and I was going to stay. With the party going on at MK and DHS closing earlier that EPCOT- and no EMH hours I had no plans for after 9pm and frankly I was wondering what I was going to do.

Now I know I going to have to go back to the Poly. Yeesh.

I think the go go boot ensemble is (almost) back in style!

I love how considerate you are of MeMom's claustrophobic bubble head fear.

I hope you found your CC!

I think MeMom has been through enough tourture lately so I spared her. :lmao:
I don't think I will ever get into the boot thing. I will wear boots when it snows and as soon as I can get them off I will.
I am a sneaker ( or tennis shoe) girl. I wear them almost exclusively.

I believe in Disney so I was never really worried about my card. I think I ran through plan B in my head and it would have been inconvenient but not the end of the world.

oh no! I hope you found your card

I had faith the Poly had it now the whole experience of trying to confirm that and then go get it... well that is coming up.

Hmmm, didn't know about the peekie tiki. Will have to add that to my list of things I haven't done now! Apparently from the rest of your conversation you located the credit card, but it is still a pain and at least somewhat of a panic when you can't find one where you thought it was.... :headache:

Where I left you hanging was where I was certain it was at the Poly - if it wasn't well... it would have been a pain.

Now the process of getting needed its own post so hopefully later tonight I will fill you in. I am still at work and am waiting to start a staff meeting at 7.
I should have it up by 9 or shortly after. :)

The Peekie tiki is one you need to see at least once. It was always dark when I went so I never noticed. It is behind the registers at Boutiki.
