Eat, Run and Celebrate- Day 7- Last Day and New Orleans

Gah! Not this ride! The horror!

I'll wait out here by the old Skyway station till you're done, ok? ;)

Cute tatoo! :lmao: We had an airbrush tatoo guy as a vendor at out conference and during the reception ( with drinks ) I ended up with a dolphin. :rotfl2: And no there are not pictures, that I know of. :lmao:

Yeah, that one is a fake too, in case you didn't realize that. I'm too much of a wuss to do unnecessary needles. I believe the Titans were playing that night and Erica had some fake tattoos for us. If any pictures surface of the dolphin you must share them! ;)

::yes::

I do have a soft spot for IASW -- Charles does not, though. LOL!

My DS Chris made a great suggestion. Everyone should have Buzz Lightyear guns and score points by hitting the dolls.

im not in the dog house, i was talking about marv LIVING in the dog house.

:lmao:

Oh yes we were ganging up on Marv. :rolleyes1 I hear he may have been impersonating a security guard?

i remember seeing a youtube compilation of that. the title said pool woman has dolphin tatoo airbrushed on forehead.

wonder why you didnt share the picture with us.
:rolleyes1

forehead ... nope not me. :rolleyes1

HM was my last Mk attraction in Aug. But it was late. we were the last let in and I never even glanced at the new stuff. Someday I will, but we tend to ride it at night

It is pretty fun stuff, especially if you had time to really stop and look instead of walk by.

I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that we only did IASW once this trip. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

That is too funny about the CM and the picture taking my guests and himself and then you trying to capture it all.

Once is about all I can do. I now watch the CM in the tower because most time thye think no one is looking.

Wait by the stroller parking and we will get you on the way out, K ? I will even let you move the strollers around.

I remember that one too. Hopefully NO pictures of the dolphin are around. :lmao:

It must have still been crowded in Fantasyland because I went here next.

I walked around and caught the Riverboat on a voyage.

IMG_0638.jpg

I opted for the train at first totally forgetting it would take me to Main street. I was hoping the path to Tomorrowland was still open but no such luck.

Since Of course I just missed a train, I looked around as I waited.

IMG_0639.jpg

IMG_0640.jpg

My train arrived and as we chugged through Frontierland, we still made a stop by the Toontown station. No doubt to preserve the timing of the other trains.

It did give me time to look around.

IMG_0641.jpg

IMG_0642.jpg

The logo on the train.

IMG_0643.jpg

My luck was that I just missed the previous train by mere seconds. My luck was also that when I walked out on Main street I found some strange formation going on.

IMG_0644.jpg

I looked at my watch and realized it was 5:00pm. It was time for the Flag ceremony. Score I walked right into this one.

Of course still pictures don’t do it justice but imagine the band playing God Bless America, and the slow drum roll as the flag is being lowered.

Since I was at the front of the park, I decided to peek in on the princesses.

We did the train and we stopped in Toontown as well (they said it was for water for the engine).

We have never seen the Flag Ceremony and I truly appreciate you sharing those photos, Pat. :)

That's what we've been told on several occasions.

I always like to watch the people around me as they watch the very moving flag ceremony. The ones who have done service or have someone in the service seem to be easy to spot. They have a certain extra aura of reverence about them.

I wish the Tiana 'showboat show' was still going on. It was so fun and colorful and lively. The music was awesome, too!

Big Thunder Mount-in, as Brooklynn says, was one of our last rides of the October trip. She loves the ride but hates the noise.

Won't it be great when the new part of Fantasyland opens and we have thousands of new photo ops??? :woohoo:

On our last trip we stumbled upon the Flag Ceremony. Very touching! I'm so glad I got to see that.

Yup I heard that we needed water, and may have, but felt kind of odd just sitting there.

The Verizon Mobile magic app actually had it listed in the events or show section so I got a heads up when I entered the park earlier that day. Totally slipped my mind, as even the time of day does, so when I stepped off the train came down the stairs and saw the unusual formation I had to think a minute.

I am very glad I stumbled on it and the crowd that gathered were all taken wth the ceremony and so quiet the only sound you heard was the music and the commands of the ceremony itself. :goodvibes

I am kind of sad the Showboat is no more. All the clacking on BTMRR is noisy. I am not real fond of it either.

The New Fantasyland will bring new sights, new HM, and new out of the way details to find and share. :goodvibes

The 3 o'clock parade, the 4:45 train (which includes the 5 o'clock flag ceremony). I think I'm seeing a trend here.

Hey, from the artists rendering of the new Fantasyland it looks like the crowds won't be too bad! :thumbsup2

The first was unintentional but as I went on it seemed natural since the parade and flag ceremony do happen at the same time every day. Hmmm I did a few other things later that also happen at the same time every day. :scratchin: A theme has been born.

:lmao: Great, I was worried all I would see is people. And if you look closely nobody is having a meltdown and everyone is having fun and know where they are going. Yup, Fantasyland.

You got some great pics of the flag retreat! My Dh is active duty Navy, and I always ask him if he would be interested in doing it someday, but he is really shy and does not like being the center of attention. I think it would be a really neat experience, something uniquely Disney. Maybe someday I'll talk him into it!

 I love your vision of new Fantasyland!

Hi! Just joining in! Looks like a fun trip. We ran the 5K, too, so we might have ran right past each other.

:rotfl2: Nice one!

Thank you , Thanks you vera much. I'll be here all week!

It is a simple ceremony, but powerful to all that pass by. It is like you pas into theis bubble with the hustle and bustle of the entrance and MAin street but everything around you is calm. :goodvibes

We can all dream right? :lmao:

party: :welcome: party: We might have. Keep looking for yourself in the pictures.

I left you on Main street after the flag ceremony. I looked at the line for the princesses.
The line was short so I figured why not.

As I waited the line grew with partygoers. A few that seemed to have their quota of pixie dust and sugar already.

They weren’t being terrible just … how shall we say…. Busy. Playing with the ropes, swinging, rearranging the ropes all while the moms just looked on. Even the young lady in front of me with her dad noticed.

Finally my turn. Since I was alone it actually caused some confusion since the family ahead was just a father and daughter. The assumption was that I was with them.

IMG_0659.jpg

As I found my way out of the princess lair, the line for Mickey has grown. Since I had about an hour and a half until I turned into a pumpkin, I quickly headed to Tomorrowland to get on what I could.

IMG_0664.jpg

I think Zurg won this round.

IMG_0666.jpg

I was able to get on SM – I hate how they put stuff over the picture so this is all I have.

IMG_0668.jpg

The Peoplemover was next.

I was taking the long way out.

Look who it is. The Blue fairy. :lmao:

As I passed by the castle, I to do a re-do.

IMG_0680.jpg

What this?

IMG_0681.jpg

Back to what I was doing.

IMG_0682.jpg

Once I got my shot, I had to chase her down.
Caught you.

IMG_0683.jpg

It sure does look like she caught me too but with my zoom I was pretty far
away. She is sitting by the carrousel and I thik I was back by Tinks treasures.

I was pretending to take this.

IMG_0684.jpg

I walked back to the stroller parking which has become.

IMG_0685.jpg

IMG_0686.jpg

It was about 6:40 and it was getting crowded so I had to figure out what to do next.

I can see how there might be some confusion if you're in line for the princesses as a single, and there's a father and child in front of you. I'm glad you got your pictures though.

Yeah, I hate that they're putting junk over the ride pictures on SM now to discourage us redneck picture takers. :headache:

Whoa, that blue fairy is really......something. I'll leave it at that.

I tried to make sure I was standing back, but yeah I can see how it happens. Just took some 'splaining and everyone was cool. I think by the time we got at Aurora and the dad and girl had left, everything was straightened out.

If we could add all of them to the PP, I would be OK with that. I guess at least they don't forbid pictures, like some places. :)

Yeah she caught my eye too - and I like guys. She was obviously easy to spot in a crowd. :rolleyes1

Very cool pictures of the flag ceremony. I've never seen it myself. Guess I've just never been in that area of the park at that time? Thanks for sharing.

This was the first time I caught it too and purely by dumb luck.
Being up at the entrance right at 5 o'clock is not usually when I am up there.

That's also how I missed the trolley performers, never on Main street between 9:30 and 10:30am.
