tarheelmjfan, yes, I am convinced that "1" means Loews Plat who paid a qualifying rate, and that's it! It doesn't get you anything special, and I do have to say that every single time we've had the "1" at the RPR, we've received a special gift from some kind of manager (in addition to our Loews First gift), like chocolate covered strawberries and champagne, or some kind of gift basket. No dice at HRH though, so maybe it means different things at different hotels, not sure!

And, thank you, I totally agree about the Spurs ... and I hope anybody but them wins the championship. Dirty thugs!

MF, if I live to be 70 I am dead smack in the middle of middle age! OK, maybe I have a few years to go yet, but it's coming!

Yes, we had the female Alex. She is good, and I totally noticed she lost all of her baby weight!

And, loribell, that much water that gets just dumped on you is a little gratuitous for Jaws, IMHO. I mean, you expect to get splashed on Jaws, but absolutely wringing-out-your-clothes drenched? Just don't wear all white that day!

OK, you at least get the sniffles and try to hide your sadness. Or maybe you just give yourself a REALLY deep sigh, and you feel a bit dejected and forlorn?

Then give me a "HELLO!"

I don't want to hear "Not me! I'm glad to get back home!!!!"

Cuz then, you're just eatin' all kinds of cups o'crazy, and we're not that kinda crazy.

Our pick-up wasn't till noon-thirty. Most normal people would go to the parks, and squeeze in those last few rides.

Sometimes we do that, but Mike and I opted for some quiet, quality time together at the pool in order to reflect on our time together.

Every once in a while it takes the "Als and Jens" of the world to see we are genuinely grateful that we are two generally happy peas in a pod. We adore the same things and each other. And I have to add that some of you on this board feel like friends to me (my fellow Universal homies), even though we may have never met in person. So, to anyone who thinks Universal isn't magical, it most certainly is all that and a bag of chips! And I'm not talking the boring fat free kind either.


(Can I just add that my Vanessa is under the bed next to our computer snoring right now? )

Anyway, both Mike and I talked about it, and we're not sure how our trip could've been any better.

Sure, there were some minor issues with the AP discount, but who are we kidding? We're not exactly bargain shoppers, so maybe the extra $40-50 that would have saved us is an embarrassing amount to admit to, seeing that I spent more than that in restocking fees and shipping back sneakers I tried on via online shopping for this trip. Sure there was a loud kid here or there. Sure there was that annoying lady who "mommy talked" outside our door. Sure there are those uncreative people who can't think of something different to request at Pat O'Brien's. That could happen anywhere.

And those things certainly didn't ruin a blessed thing.

We also decided that we would definitely keep our ressie at the HRH for our October trip (for 8 glorious days, but I'm not bragging or anything...).

As much as we love RPR Club and have grown close to the people who work there, HRH was awesome. And I truly mean that. I was a little disappointed, however, that after staying at the HRH, Mike announced:

"I'll tell you one thing. I will never stay at the PBH again... it's too far."

OK, that's fine I suppose, because my good friend Karen is always looking for a weekend get-a-way, and how nice would it be to treat her to her own bathroom in a Portofino Suite? Sure, Mike and I had a lackluster stay there 3 years ago, but I'm ready to try it again.

The HRH or RPR it is for Mike though, and I love him that much to respect his wishes and enjoy our time together. Too bad I never dragged him back over to the PBH to see that suite that Motherfletcher got over last Labor Day. He'd have been singing a different tune!


Here are some pics I took that day. Clearly, I should never quit my day job:

One thing I forgot to mention in all of my most verbose trippage was that the Nascar menu totally changed. If you were a fan of the Nascar menu, especially us who LOOOOVVVED their cheese fries (no comments please. Us 2 fatties know we don't need the cheese fries, but they SURE were good!), you may be disappointed that they still make them, but with cheese whiz now. The only thing that stayed the same were their ribs. Just FYI because I forgot before and before I forget again, I need to get this in there.


We headed back to the room and I tried to do the express check out via the TV. This never seems to work for us, proving that "1" on your room card only gets you so far......

We gave up on the TV check out and just left the hotel. They would figure out we were gone, and I usually don't worry about that kind of stuff.

Sure enough, the one great part of our "great" room view was that we could easily spot Roger from Sunray, and we knew he was downstairs and outside waiting for us.

And off we went.

We had an uneventful check in and were way early.

Here's hoping all my DIS friends enjoy every last minute of their Universal Vacations. Eat, drink, and be merry, my friends! Enjoy your vacations while they last. They sure are precious, and I won't soon forget a single one that I've had with my hubby, even though we go a few times a year. Each one is special. And each one brings us closer together. I wish only the same for you.

mac! Mike and I rarely cancel a vacation; of course we're still on for October! We will be flying in on the 6th. Let us know if you need anything from the grocery store on our way in! The 3-way club ... that doesn't sound like too pristine a club to be in, now does it?! Too bad I'm a (proud) member! (haha, I said "member").
