We are having a bake sale 2nd week of December as a fundraiser for a good friend that is on the donation list for a kidney...does anyone have any easy bake sale ideas? With Christmas so close we are going to make festive looking goodies, I was just hoping for some fun ideas.

I love these -they freeze well. I don't melt the chips on the stovetop -I do it in the microwave.

1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. peanut butter
6 c. Rice Krispies® cereal
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. butterscotch chips

Directions:

* Prepare a 13x9 inch pan with cooking spray and set aside.

* In a large pot, over medium heat, cook syrup and sugar together until sugar is dissolved and the combined mixture begins to boil. Stir frequently.

I just found this one and I can not wait to try it!!

Now sure on the amounts, but here is what you need.

Pretzels(sp)
1 bag of microwave popcorn
Chocolate chips
peanuts

You pop the bag of popcorn like you normally would.

put the Chocolate in a microwaveable bowl and melt. Stir about half way through to make sure all the chips are melted.

Add the peanuts and popcorn to the melted chocolate mixing well.

Take the pretzels and spread them out on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Then spoon a bit of the chocolate/popcorn/peanut mix on top of the pretzels. Put in the fridge until the chocolate has got hard and then serve.

The recipe says you can add cranberrys, but I'm not a cranberry fan.

Rice Krispie Marshmallow Treats, Fruity Pebbles Marshmallow Treats and Cocoa Pebbles Marshmallow Treats...can't get much easier than that. :thumbsup2

OR, take pretzels rods and dip them in melted chocolates, then sprinkle with sprinkles or non-pareils.

People tend to like delicious breads during the Christmas season and there are hundreds and hundreds of recipes to choose from.. If you purchase the smaller size aluminum loaf pans (I think you get 5 in a package) you can do up quite a few breads at a time.. ;)

If I could find my Christmas recipes I would post the recipes for some of the favorites I have made as gifts, but I've just moved back into my DD's house from my place at the lake and I don't know where anything is in the new house!! That has to change when it comes Christmas cookie baking time!!!!!! :teeth:

How about mini cheescakes? They always seemed to go fast when I used to make them for bake sales.

Buy one of the cheesecake box kits (the ones where you just add milk and beat with a hand mixer) Instead of one big cheesecake, use cupcake papers and make mini ones.

You can always go really easy, too. I know at our bake sales, things like frosted brownies, cupcakes, large sugar cookies all go over well. You can make large batches of these as well.

I also agree with the idea of breads. I love pumpkin bread at this time of year!

You could also do "larger ticket" items. Things like whole cakes, pies, etc.

How about a cake raffle? Get 7-10 people to do some fancy/delicious cakes (pumpkin rolls, pumpkin pie, any pie, chocolate cake, etc) and sell raffle tickets. First one drawn gets their choice, second gets second choice, etc.

what about those cookies that you cut and the shapes change inside. for halloween there is like a ghost and stuff. they've got to have them for christmas, they're always great and SUPER easy. or you could just make cupcakes and dye vanilla frosting red and green and frost them all christmas colors.

I think I need to go to bed. I read the title as "Easy Bake Ideas" I thought Cool Beans pulled out her easy bake oven for a late night snack!!

What about scotcheroos? They are easy to package individually and you could sprinkle the chocolate with red and green sprinkles. My family and coworkers love these!!! :p

That's OK--I've seen the thread title half a dozen times tonight and each time I was like, "Oh cool, the Easy Bake Ov-- oh," like I was disappointed anew every time.

Combining the two ideas you can make a pizza "crust" from the Rice krispie treats, substitute sauce with melted milk chocolate, top with a variety of goodies (marshmallows, M&Ms, nuts etc) and then sprinkle with shaved white chocolate. To get more creative, serve in a small pizza box (buy a few from the local pizza place)

We used to sell these at Craft fairs:
Chocolate dipped strawberries $1 each. :thumbsup2
(dip in white first and make a Tux & tie from milk chocolate and you can charge up to $3 :) )
Candy cane bark (crushed candy canes spinkled on a sheet of melted white chocolate)

How about festive christmas bark?? It is soooo easy....take a bag of peppermint candies or candy canes, crunch them up in the food processor...becareful you don't end up with all dust! Melt white chocolate, sift the peppermint crunchies over the chocolate so that the dust falls in. Spread the chocolate-peppermint mixture onto aluminum foil and shake the rest of the peppermint chunks onto the chocolate. Let cool and break up into pieces. Put in saran wrap and tie with a pretty ribbon....this stuff sells for like $6 a pound at the candy stores around here!
