The week after Easter, starting Easter Monday or the week before Christmas, up to the 24th. Which is busier? Are the waterparks still doable in December??TIA

about the same. Disney world is beautiful at xmas time. You'll really enjoy it.

We went this year Dec 17-22 and I did not think it was any busier than our spring break or summer trips. I must say it is now my very favorite time to go, the decorations are amazing and the weather was the best we have ever had-about 70 degrees and no rain.

I don't believe the water parks are open in Dec. I sure someone will check in with more info.

Does anyone know for sure if the waterparks are open in Dec? It would be a major factor as we are from Canada and my kids are part fish!

I know for sure one of them was opened when we were there in December because our bus stopped to pick up passengers. I think winter is when the renovate them but probably try to do them at different times. The weather was great, we did not go to a waterpark but DS went swimming at the resort several times.

The waterparks seem to stay open even when it is colder in Florida, but you might want to check out mousesavers.com for more information. They have a listing of locations and times of refurbishments so you will know exactly which parks will be best. You can also check out their section regarding the water parks which gives good tips. If you are going over Easter break, it is 80 degrees in Florida right now, so water parks or resort pools will definately be enjoyable! Whatever you decide have a great time.

Dec 1-20th or so is usually OK. Dec 24-Jan 2nd ish is as bad as it gets for crowds. We do it every year to hit the football bowl games and Diz, plus enjoy a bit of the warmer weather while I have off work (school). At Xmas expect 2 to 3 hours to stand-by on the biggies like TSM, Tower or Terror, etc. Use the FP system well, and you can still hit quite a few attractions in a day. Tour the hotels, very nicely decorated at Xmas - to avoid the insanity a bit.

We went the week of Christmas and New Years. It was COLD! Busier than I could of ever imagined!!

I can only speak to one side of the question because we've only been over X-mas. For three years now we get there about a week before Christmas and leave a day or two after. We absolutely love it. The decorations are wonderful, especially at the nice resorts. We stay offsite but we have dinners at resorts so we can go and "tour" them.

There is always one water park open. One will be closed for refurbishment (at least one has been closed every year we've been there).

If you are smart about how you set up your trip the crowds are manageable (read...be willing to get up early and get there before park opening to be one of the first into the park for the day). I've subscribed to TourGuide Mike all three trips and supplemented with the Unofficial Guide to WDW. We've never had any problems.

And, yes the weather is unpredictable. In the same trip we've gone from shorts to bundling up in every single layer we brought with us.

We've been down at WDW for at least 10 Easters and 3 Christmas weeks--from Christmas (or before) to after NYE. The week between Christmas and NYE is FAR more crowded, and sometimes the weather is quite chilly. Think windchills in the 30's!:scared1: The decorations and shows at Christmas are wonderful. I think everyone should see them at least once. That said, we would choose Easter break over Christmas break any day! The weather is close to perfect over most Easter breaks, and the flower/garden show is fantastic! I'm not just talking exhibits...I mean the landscaping. Everything is in bloom and things just look sunnier and happy!:) There is a much better chance of really being able to enjoy the pool and other outdoor activities over the Easter break....So my vote is for Easter break!:thumbsup2

Oops! I just noticed that you are talking about the week before Christmas. We've done that several times, too. I would say that the crowds are comparable to the Easter break for that week. I would still go with the Easter break. I will say, though, that we did get a fantastic deal for the week before Christmas through the 24th this past Christmas break. Maybe Disney will still be hurting and offer great deals again?

We've gone every other Easter for the past 15 years. It's always pretty busy...but never unbearable. We go early at rope drop and stay until about 1pm and then head back to the hotel for a lunch/swim break and then head back to the parks about 7pm or so and stay until closing. Works very well for us. Only had cool, dreary weather 1 year when Easter was mid-March, otherwise it has always been really nice.

I would do Easter,The weather is deff better then Dec..
December weather is so hit and miss!!!
