Well after a fab time in WDW, I am back on the DLP board! yey! We booked on a fab deal back in April but due to WDW planning haven't been able to think about it much since (even though I'm just as excited about this trip, we're going with friends this time and telling the kids together at Christmas)

We're going the first week of the UK school hols, early Sunday morning (29/3) to Thursday (day before Good Friday) I've just had a quick look at the French & German school hols which strangely don't seem to coincide. I was expecting it to be crazy busy but may we be in luck as we're leaving before Easter weekend?

If not, doesn't matter too much, we figured before we booked that it'd be busy but just wondered :goodvibes

We are there from March 31 until April 6th becasue the german Easter holidays are the week before and after easter. :wave2:

The French do not have holidays at this time so I guess and hope that it will not so chaotic the week before easter. :crowded:

:thumbsup2

Ah ok, yes that's the same as here, France and Belgium schools aren't off that week though, so fingers crossed! :) Only concern now is that we may get caught up in traffic as we leave as it'll be the evening before Good Friday, we did book a late shuttle though to maximise time in the parks so will hopefully be ok.

Sounds like it might not be too chaotic Ro - fingers crossed! :confused3

How was WDW? I haven't seen you posting on there about your trip but perhaps I missed it - don't check TR boards much! Our trip is coming around far too slowly, but mind you, we need it to save up and also to plan our military tactics :lmao:.

I was there at DLP just before the French schools started their holidays in April this year - it was completely doable, not bad crowd levels at all, and I had a 5-year old with me, so there was a lot of non-fastpass rides going on :).

Aw I haven't posted on there! meant to do a brief highs and lows but just haven't got round to it yet. Have had a poorly little lady since Monday :( think she misses all her new friends! - oh yes, the littlest bear LOVES characters! :goodvibes

Oh it will fly round once you're back from DLP and then get Christmas out of the way I'm sure! I still can't believe we've been and come back!

It was a great trip, however not as amazing as I know it could have been. However I am certain this was mostly due to not just being 'our' holiday. We are already planning a return to do it our way, it'll be a good few years yet but we will most certainly stay onsite, as I know it would have been so much better to be able to have a few park hours before returning to recharge etc. It was difficult feeling like we wanted to get on and do things but being slowed down by others too, I think they forgot it was mine and the kids first trip there to a certain extent. Didn't want to put this on the other board just incase it gets seen though lol. All the best bits we were on our own for, which seems a shame, and I felt guilty that they were missing out. Kinda knew this would happen before we went though.

Couldn't have applied the milatary tactics I would usually use, got eye rolls for having fastpasses for things... Oh until Soarin' was 70 minutes when we had our fp+ of course ;)

I strangely found myself missing the ease of DLP too, I think I am probably in the minority but as yet I'm not as wowed as most seem to be by WDW. Again I think this is probably due to having young children and staying offsite, so I am hopeful that next time it'll be a different story. I'm so looking forward to going to DLP now though, my friend was certain I'd come back and be disney'd out! :rotfl:

That's a shame to hear as WDW/Orlando holidays are just so expensive. I think it is difficult when you go with extended family/friends as it's hard to just do what you'd like to. I recall you saying about the villa at the time, before going. That is why we decided to stay onsite - we like being in the Disney bubble and as you say, the convenience of getting back to the villa onsite for afternoon naps/relax/swims etc really appeals as I think we'll be up and out really early a lot of the time.

We are going with my parents and I think at times it may be hard to get a balance between who wants to do what, but I think because we are onsite, we have the beauty of the buses so can split up etc if we like. Of course, FP+ and ADRs so far out make it slightly difficult to just abandon plans for the day, but what's an FP between friends :rotfl2:.

I think, as you say, if you go back again and can stay where you'd like and do more just for your family, you might hopefully see it differently. I know what you mean about DLP though - in comparison it's so 'easy' to visit there :lmao:.

We will be flying on Friday 27th (School breaks up at lunchtime!) staying for 4 nights so we are taking advantage of the week before Easter , hoping it won't be too packed. I figured there would be less European school hols in that week so thanks for the info on the school hols guys!
