Easter/holiday rates?

For those of you who have travelled DCL at Easter as well as other times, how much more expensive is Easter/holiday versus regular timeframes (not value)?

Unfortunately we may have to stick to the kids school break in '06 which is Easter, and I just would like to get an idea if we can even consider Easter week. I am planning on booking as soon as the rates are released to take advantage of early booking.

Why not just go and look at the DCL website and see the prices for this year's Easter cruises. That will give you and idea:

Although you should be able to do better than this if you book early. I am waiting for the 2006 dates to come out too, but I won't know what our spring break dates will be yet.

You need to check your school calendar first. We live on Long Island and in '05 the Easter break is only 5 days (which includes Easter weekend and is in March this year). Our Spring break is the last week of April - for Passover. That is when we booked our cruise.

I already know what we have off in '06 and unfortunately it is Easter. Looking at Easter '05 on the DCL web-site, the rates have been out now for a while and hopefully do not reflect what we will be able to book in '06 with early booking. My fingers are crossed that they will be lower. Also the boat going to CA in '05 may have inflated rates quite a bit for Spring '05 and Fall '05 since summer travel out of Port Can. is not an option for anyone.

I was hoping that someone might recall what pricing they have gotten when doing early booking for Easter versus other timeframes and in years when there was not this frenzy with the boat leaving Port Can.

Hello, I am also planning a vacation at spring break and it is about $1000 more than if we were to wait until May but once you get to June it is about $1000 cheaper to go at spring break time. Hope this helps
