We are planning to spend our 10th anniversary in our favorite place. Since it falls right before Easter we would have a super long trip April 16- April 24 2011, due to DHs work schedule it is nearly impossible to get two full weekends off but Easter just happened to help. Onto some questions:

We have travelled at this time in April for the past few years but never during Easter. I know the crowds for Easter are crazy but we are planning to spend the beginning of the trip doing the parks and Thurs - Sun relaxing at the pool, etc. My questions are many and any info would help:

1. Have you left on Easter Sunday to come home and how crazy is the airport (MCO)??

2. Since we would have to check out Sun (DH has to work Mon AM) what would Easter dinner options be? Where have you eaten and enjoyed?

3. We would be out of the villa by 11am - should be plan on eating lunch and heading to the airport due to crowds or hang around for a little?? We are not opposed to eating a big meal at lunch time (actually prefer it) if this works better.

4. Our plan is to stay at THV (our home is SSR) and I know that they are fairly removed from the main area - is there enough to do there for our little ones - they will be 4 and 7.

5. Since we plan to stay at SSR and there is no kids club can we have them go to another one at another resort? How does this work?

That is all I can think of for now...TIA!!!!

As to some of your queries. Easter Sunday is a heavy travel day but not actually as heavy as the two days before Easter or the day after. Just plan to get to the airport the recommended two hours before departure.

There are usually Easter brunches at Chef Mickey's in Contemporary, Park Fare at GF and I think also possibly at Cape May in BC. Very crowded and thus ressies needed early.

You mention hanging out at the pool. That is fine but be aware during Easter time when it is mid-April, the pools get very crowded.

If you have any thoughts of going to a park for a while be aware that on Easter Sunday MK often gets to capacity -- everyone seems to go there under the impression that they will see something that does not occur other days of the week; they are mistaken since nothing goes on at MK on Sunday that does not happen other days of the week. The "lighter" (a relative term meaning lighter than the usual huge at that time of year) parks on Sunday are usually Epcot and AK.

Just a heads up: if you have not been Easter time before but have been that mid-April time, the crowds you will face during Easter are more than double what you have seen.

:scared1::scared1::scared1:DOUBLE!!!

No actually we expected some insanity and we are still in the planning stages - of course it is ONLY 14 months away!!! :rotfl:

I suppose the pool question was a little confusing - it seems the THV are almost always booked is the pool there equally full or do more people go to use the main pool?

Thanks for the info!!!

here are responses to some of your questions.

1. We have found that the airport on Easter Sunday itself is not that crazy. A little more so than usual but not like the Thanksgiving weekend.

2. Dinners are not served at most places until 4 pm or after. Making dinner might be tight depending on what time you have to be at the airport.

3. Relative to lunch, I would eat a big lunch in the park you are going to. I have learned over the years that Easter morning is less crowded right when the parks open up....i guess alot of people are at church. But, by 11 am they are crowded. I would check out earlier than 11 go to a park enjoy the time & lunch before I had to leave.
4. I've never stayed in the THV so I cant answer that question, and I 've never put our kids in the kids programs.

Hope this is helpful

Be sure to check with the resort about Easter activities. We were at the BCV one year and VB another, and they had lots of fun stuff going on, including egg hunts. Watch these boards for Easter 2010 activities It is likely that they will do similar things in 2011.

Happy Planning! :)

Thanks - I wouldn't have tought about Easter Egg Hunts. We always do one at home but it would be fun for the girls.

I was hoping by posting before Easter this year that those who will be there this year will share so of their experiences!!!
