My niece will be staying with us this Saturday night. I'm going to feel bad if the Easter bunny doesn't visit her. So I thought I would fix her a basket up too. What things can I put into it? I was thinking of things that she could use when we go to WDW in Sept. So far I thought I would buy her an outfit to wear but what else? I would like to keep it low cost also. If I had known she was stayin the night with me, I would have waited on giving her Disney planning book. Oh well.

Any ideas?

Oh what a nice thing for you to do:goodvibes My DDs at that age liked sun glasses, swim goggles, pool toys, and water guns. There are also lip glosses and nail polishes for tweens that aren't expensive.

You can also find cute jewelry on clearance at Target and Kohls.

Silly bands (my 11 year old niece loves these things), candy, craft stuff, itunes giftcards (or disney giftcards), bracelets/necklaces/earrings from stores like Justice, Limited Too, Clarie's, etc.

Sorry those items aren't really themed for a disney trip, just some stuff that I know my 11 year old niece likes so I thought I'd throw them out as suggestions.

I was thinking of the sunglasses too. Then I was thinking like a bottle of travel size suntan lotion. Might have to see if they have the misting fans out...that would be a good idea to put in there. Keep the ideas coming.

Roseanne is on and they are going to WDW. LOL. I have to go watch it to get a fix.

Glow braclets or any kind of flashing necklace or magnetic pin things (They have Disney ones up here at the $ store-Mickey, Minnie, Dalmation, Winnie the Pooh).

Disney Gift Card-doesn't have to be a lot of $ on it.

Journal-Dollar store usually has some Disney ones. I have found Hannah Montana, Princesses, Cars, High School Musical. I always fill one out for my niece each day so she will remember what we did. She was almost 4 yrs old on our first trip to DL. I did this on my first trip back in 1999. My cousins thought I was mean making them write on vacation, but I'm sure they now appreciate their Journal of their trip to WDW.

That is a good idea for the journal. I will have to see if they have any at our store.

I think the other ideas are great! I always think of Itunes cards, Claires stuff, new headphones for an ipod, borders gift card, a teen magazine (I have been giving dd discovery girls or girl's life...something like that), a puzzle book or magazines, lip gloss, nail polish, flip flops, sunglasses, hair stuff, bath and body stuff (not necessarily from the store but that type of stuff), sidewalk chalk (all of the kids in our neighborhood - toddler through around 8th grade will sit around in our driveway drawing). Bubbles. Small item from Vera Bradley on clearance....I recently bought the little media cases (?) on clearance for my dd's and they love them for their cameras or ipods. a tshirt on clearance from Aeropostle (cheap and popular), snack stuff - chips etc. a favorite pop in a small size.

Have fun!

Do you live near a Sally Beauty? They have great little nail polishes for $1, would fit perfectly inside an egg! All kinds of funky colors...

I think I saw Disney journals at Michaels (FYI, they also had autograph books, so open it and double check it)

Children's place has flip flops 2 for $5.

Walgreens now sells Disney gift cards, but I think the smallest amt you can load is $15.

If you think she ight like Pin Trading, Micheal's had lanyards for $1 in Tink (and Princesses, Cars and toy Story.) I got them for my 3 girls and a bunch of pins.

Also, colored Sharpies for autographs.

My DD who will be 11 in May wanted to Mickey crocks at Big Lots, she loves them. They were $10.

Michael's, Big Lots and Dollar Tree all had a lot of Disney stuff cheap.

Big Lots also had planning books for $3. They were last years but can't have changed that much. :confused3

Away from your trip, anything from Claire's is good.

That is nice of you, I'd feel bad if she didn't have one too. Have fun making it up. I love making baskets!

The Easter before we went to WDW I got my dd Disney Dollars, a couple Tink Tee's and the Birnbuams WDW fo kids guide. It was our first trip and she read it cover to cover a few times and brought it with her. If it is her first trip I would definitely get her one.

For my 14 yr old DD, I have Sillybandz, flip flops, a Disney giftcard, a little candy, a tshirt from Aeropostle, and I'll probably throw in a pair of sunglasses. I'm also doing an Easter Egg hunt around the house for her on Easter morning. I'll probably stick a few quarters and/or dollar bills in the eggs.

I also have 2 older DDs (and a son in law), and they still want their Easter baskets! I'm giving them a little candy, flip flops, a gift card to Starbucks, and a gift card to their favorite fast food place!

If you are interested in gift cards - check out Walgreens - they have lots of gift cards from a lot of fast food places, Disney, itunes, etc!

If you have a Disney Store nearby their reusable shopping bags ($2.50) make great Easter "baskets". Most stores have a wide variety of characters-- even the new Alice in Wonderland.

We went to Disney in May last year, so my kids each got a bag with a Disney beach towel, bathing suit, sunglasses, a few other small items, and Disney dollars (I just went last week and our store doesn't carry them anymore :guilty:)

We drive to FL (22 hours), so we used the bags for stuff in the car (one for snacks, one for sweaters, one for toys) and then used them to keep our room organized during the trip. The kids also used their beach towels for blankets in the car.

I don't know if anyone has offered this idea, but what about reading material. My dd12 loves to have a good book and teen magazine (especially if she has a long traveling day).:dance3:
