Easter at Disneyland

My hubby and I were planning on spending a weekend at Disneyland for our anniversary next month. It totally didn't occur to me that it was Easter until our friends mentioned it yesterday. I'd still like to go...but I'm wondering about crowds. Anyone know what the park is like on Easter weekend? Crowd-wise, plus any sort of special stuff they might do? Thanks!

It's very busy, if you poke around on the board more you'll find lots of discussion about it.

Keep in mind it's Spring Break season too so there are threads about that floating around as well.

When we did spring break with Easter weekend, it was crazy busy!!! You could hardly get from one thing to the next. The bathroom & food lines were as long as some of the ride lines.

They had pins, Mickey ears & plushes for Easter, but they don't have any special events or meals. You can find Easter goodies in the bakeries. If you can postpone for the spring breaks to end & celebrate your anniversary late.....I'd suggest that. A few weeks after Easter, the crowds will die down & you'd be able to enjoy your time there.

My husband's a teacher, so unfortunately we have to keep it to his spring break, the first weekend of which is Easter/our anniversary. We've been at very crowded times before (we've done New Year's a couple times) so we know how to handle it...but it's always nice to be mentally prepared beforehand for huge crowds

Well, if you've done New Year's, you should be able to handle Easter. Easter is a popular day, especially if the weather is nice. We really enjoy Easter morning though; we found it calmer and slower than other weekend mornings that we have experienced until around 10 or 11 AM. So if you get there really early, you will probably be able to get a ton of rides done before the crowds start pouring in.

That sounds like a good idea :thumbsup2 I've seen a lot of people saying the week after Easter is less busy than the week before, so we may see if we can push our trip from Fri-Sun to Sun-Tue or something. Thanks for the help!

I agree. We have done before Easter and after Easter (different years) and always prefer the after Easter crowds. It's still really busy, but it definitely felt a little less intense to us than the week before Easter. With Easter so late this year, I suspect that this will again be true. Our break is not related to Easter this year, so we won't be there around that time at all for once.
