Easiest way to go to Downtown Disney from Animal Kingdom

Is there a bus that goes straight to DD from AK ? Or , do I have to take a bus to the closest resort and switch to a DD bus there ?

NO direct bus from any of the parks to/from DTD. Yo need to go to a resort first.

As Ed said, there are no busses from any of the parks to Downtown Disney, and no busses from Downtown Disney to any of the parks.

Your best bet is to take a bus to one of the resorts that is on the route from AK to DTD. CSR is probably your best bet, since it always seems to have excellent bus service and is directly in line from AK to DTD.

You can take a bus to Saratoga Springs and walk to DTD.

You can take a bus to POFQ and take a boat to DTD.

I don't recommend either of these routes to most people.

Unless you are familar with SSR (it is very spread out with several buildings), it may take you a while to find the walking path).

The boat from POFQ is often full (starts at POR), so you may have to wait quite a bit to get on.

If you are in a big hurry, take a cab. I'd take the first bus leaving to go to either AK, CSR, CB or OKW and transfer to the DD bus from that resort.

I'll second what CarolMN said.

SSR is a huge resort, and the bus stops there are at least a 15-20 minute walk away from any part of DTD (there are actually two walking paths, one that goes to the West Side near Cirque, and one that goes to the Marketplace near the Marina).

You can certainly try the boat from POR or POFQ, but those boats only run after 4pm daily, and they take at least 20 minutes to make the trip - more, if they make multiple stops at both sides of Port Orleans and at SSR.

You r best bet when travelling via Disney transport is to take the bus to CSR or CBR, which are both located just off West Buena Vista Drive in a direct line between AK and DTD. The Pop Century bus would also do in a pinch; Pop is on Victory Way, a short distance off WBV Drive, and is between AK and DTD. CSR would be my first choice since as a convention resort it seems to have some of the best bus service of any WDW resort.

If time is a factor, then a cab is your best bet.

Fastest way is take bus from Animal Kingdom to Animal Kingdom Lodge resort, than change to Downtown Disney Bus. The reason why this way is the fastest is that all the other buses that depart from Animal Kingdom will make a stop at Blizzard Beach, only the AKL route does not do this.
