We are flying down in Oct, and renting a mini-van from the airport. Any opinions on the easiest route from the airport to WDW would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You didn't mention what resort you were going to, but I took the advice of others on this board & copied/took these directions:

Follow the signs for the South Exit from the airport to pick up SR417 South towards Disney World. Once on 417S, there are 2 toll plazas ($1 each). After the second toll. take exit 6 (SR536/Int'l Drive). Go straight through 2 sets of traffic lights (first is Int'l Drive, second is SR535), which will put you on SR536. Contnue straight on this road and go straight through the next set of lights. You will pass Marriott Orlando World Center on the right; Holiday Inn Family Suites on the left, then I-4.

Just after I-4, you'll pass under the WDW welcome arch and the road becomes Epcot Center Drive. This will take you to any of the Epcot Center area resorts. If you are staying at another property, you will come upon the car care center and could get directions from there. I found this route to be very easy; and this was our first time with a rental car. You can also use the search function to see if anything else comes up.

Good luck!

Those directions came word for word from Debs directions web page. There are specific directions to each Disney resort on that page as well as options for making a grocery stop enroute if needed.

It really is very easy. There is so much signage that it's very difficult to get lost if you have any sense of direction whatsoever.

I highly recommend the Greeneway Route 417. Nice road, not a lot of traffic and you are at WDW before you know it.

I agree with safetymom.....it should only take you 20 minutes once you are out of the airport to get to WDW.I highly reccomend to never go I-4 because of traffic.

Go to the following link and it will show you how to use the 417 via the use of maps & pictures. It also has lots of other maps & useful info.

Thanks to all who posted. Doesn't look bad at all. Guess we'll find out in October. Thanks again.

It is not bad at all, in fact, it is a true cake walk. :)
