I know I'm overthinking everything about this little solo trip to DL in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS(!), but please bear with me!:rotfl: Soon it will be over, and I promise to post a killer trip report!!!

I figured out my routes and transfers on the OCTA to get to and from my workshop at Chapman University. I used this link: http://www.octa.net/trip planner page 1.asp (The google transit trip planner is pretty cool!) ANYway, going from Hojo to Chapman, it has me walking to a bus stop close to the intersection of W. Ball Road and Disneyland Drive (10 min).

My question is, do I have to cross that highway 5 to get there, or is there some way to avoid doing that? Albort posted once that it is pretty scary to cross a highway on foot in Anaheim, and I will have a carryon and laptop to deal with.:scared1:

The other option I was able to get is to board at the Katella Convention Center, which is a longer walk (17 min), but maybe this would be the better/safer choice...?:confused3

What does everybody think? I'm all about quicker/shorter walks, but I'm also all about safety/arriving alive at my destination LOL!

haha, considered that its a busy busy busy freeway intersection, its always kinda dangerous... Just be careful and you will be fine...

BUT, i think there is a bus that will take you from where the enterance to Disneyland on Harbor (east Shuttle lane) to cross the freeway.

I just used the OCTA trip planner, plugged in Disneyland as the starting point, fewest transfers, and it gave me a 33 minute trip starting at the shuttle area using buses #83 and #56. Walking to that stop would be easier I believe - it's all level ground vs a large hump crossing the bridge to Ball Rd. The distance might even be a bit shorter.

I played around with this all (and I mean ALL) morning. I found that I just can't use the OCTA's Just Click because it doesn't give any maps, and not being from Anaheim, I don't know where the heck any of those connections/bus stops are!:rotfl: .

The Google Transit not only gives maps, but also satellite pictures that I can zoom in on and really see how I'm supposed to get to the next connection when I transfer.

It also seems to make a huge difference what time I enter as wanting to arrive at Chapman. Almost every time I entered a different time, I then got a different plan (different routes/connections), and sometimes an impossible distance to cover in a short period of time. It really helped to be able to zoom in on the satellite map, find the connections and see just how far apart they were, and what obstacles I'd have to get around to make it to my next bus.

I think I finally have the plans that will work for me, and I won't have to mess with the highway.

Thanks for the help, Jlmarr!:thumbsup2

I thought you could catch bus 46 down Harbour to Chapman, you could then walk along chapman or catch another bus on Chapman, I have a route map somewhere I will look it up for you...
