Do you think it would be easier to keep up with 2 use years or 2 different home resorts? It seems like it would take some attention when booking/banking either way. Thanks!Sus:)

I too have wondered how most people here are monitoring their banking/borrowing. I actually created a spreadsheet in MS Excel to track points earned, borrowed, banked and even a break-even analysis on my DVC membership (not too much of a finance geek am I). 2 use years would be tougher to monitor I think, because of the additional banking calendar. But on the other hand you will be more likely to have points available year round with 2 use years.

With 2 homes you have the 11/7 month dilema when booking your trip. Although you could split it so you gurantee your days, and just transfer from one to the other at the 7 month point. I think I'd rather have the 2 homes/same use year. Just easier to keep track of the reservation stuff is easy to work out. Losing track of points could cost money, having to change hotels in the middle of a vacation is inconvenient but not a major tragedy. My opinion for what it's worth.

We have 2 homes (OKW+VB) with the same use yr(Sept) and have never had a problem keeping track.;)

We have 3 home resorts and 2 use years. We intentionally put our BCV points in the same use year as our OKW points to make it a little easier to manage. Our HH points are Feb and our OKW & BCV are Jun. We use a spreadsheet to keep track of all of them.

Thanks for the opinions. I know that Disney requires the same use year if you add-on with them, so I figure they think it's easier. There is a resale that we are considering, but it has a different use year. We also have June and I have not been able to find a good resale with June as the use year. This one is a decent price with all of the points banked. I figure it should save us about $1000 over Disney. We may end up buying at BCV to avoid the use year confusion, but then we would be tempted to sell the first year back at $5, which I know is not enough. With the increase looming, I feel some sense of urgency. I don't feel comfortable buying at Vero, where I think they are giving $15, since I know we won't be staying there often, and the dues are so high. Thanks for letting me ramble...Sus:)

We have 3 contacts at 2 resorts, all have different use years. AS long as your a details person, it's not a big deal. I suspect it would be easier to keep up with multiple resorts with the same use year rather than multiple use years but not that much of a difference.

We have two home resorts and two use years. I forget where we stand with our points, but DW has a handle on it, luckily! I may just call MS today to confirm our status. We usually book far enough in advance so our points are long gone before they expire!
