Easier to add a person OR delete a person?

I'm thinking of taking the plunge and booking a solo cruise. In the past my son has joined me for parts of "solo" Disney trips but because he works freelance can't plan too far ahead. I know it won't cost much more to add him to a cruise vacation, so am wondering if I should just automatically include him. I guess basically I'm wondering what triggers a cancel-reservation-fee so if I'm better off to include him initially or add him later if he can come.

Thoughts?

You should book him and then remove him before paid in full date to avoid a cancellation fee. Although the fee is 50.00 and of course he would not be lead guest if you could not get it set prior to your paid in full date.

One reason to add him now is lifeboat space. If you book just yourself and the other rooms on your lifeboat are 'full', then you wouldn't be able to add another person to your room.

Definitely agree about the easier to delete rather than add later. As it gets closer, it’s not always easy to add a passenger. We have tried that before and it’s a process to add if you have to change rooms.

Thanks. I forgot about the famous paid in full deadline. I think he would know by then. It's bad enough to pay the single supplement fee, I would hate to have to pay a $50 fee on top of that!

Good point. I would like there to be lifeboat space for him. ::yes::

I'm sure you're right. One year he joined me at WDW for a few days and I couldn't add him to a Le Cellier reservation. That day we both just went to the podium and it was okay, but I couldn't officially add him ahead of time.

If you wait to add him, he will pay the current cruise rate at the time of booking. Some cruises that is a big difference in cost.
