Hi everyone,

Okay not sure which thread to post this on,

Has anyone else received this offer from Disney Visa?

Earn 5X Disney Dream Reward Dollars on "eligible dining, groceries, gas, home furnishings and home and garden purchases in April, May and June".

I was soooo excited - I thought not a bad deal - even though it does not include tuitions, car insurance (big bills), etc. - I thought what is the catch? How much do I need to spend first?

They have to be kidding - not only do I need to sign up/enroll for this with a code - but it is for anything spent over the first $2,250. Not good at all.  :confused3

I love and use the Disney Visa so I can use the rewards towards our cruises, or maintenance fees, wdw trips, etc. - I would love more than 1% back or double/triple rewards once in a while with a more reasonable amount to charge first. :sad2:

Yes, I received the same offer in the mail today. Their promotions have always been useless to me. Not only do they set ridiculous spending amounts before the promos kick in, but many of my purchases don't show up in the correct category so they don't count! The grocery store that I normally shop at comes up in a misc. category instead of grocery so I don't even get credit towards the minimum.

I received an offer yesterday from them but it was for DOUBLE Disney Dream Reward Dollars for every eligible dollar spent above $450. Same categories and time frames.

Do these announcements come in the US postal mail or email?

Mine (and I am sure the others) came via US Post Mail.

I think spending $450 - $700 a month sounds more reasonable. They really just want to get us to over charge and then can't pay the bill in full, thus paying their high interest rates. Well, I am not falling for that trap ;)

My offer was for 5x rewards in the specific categories for anything above $900 EACH MONTH for April, May and June. I never spend that much on my card each month to make it worthwhile. I have just about given up on the Disney Visa. I am looking for another reward card with better incentives.

I was listening to Wednesday's (3/28) episode of WDW Today podcast, and Len Testa (Who works for a competitor of Visa, when he is not writing the unofficial guide) said that when Disney was shopping around their card to various companies they were driving such a hard bargain that most partners would be barely be making money, which is why he believes that Visa offers so little real perks and promotions with the card.

I.E. Spend 700 before you can earn double rewards, and then the double rewards only count for the money over 700, not the initial 700.

Yeah...I'm also at the $2250 level. I just bought a new bed and 8x11 area rug. Too bad those will post too early to apply to this....

I did not get any of these and we are really good customers. My bill has been over 3,000 a month for the last 3 months (we do pay in full each month) . Do you think they are just offering it to people with low avg. monthly balances to make them up their spending? I am only using this card through my July trip and then I am getting rid of it!

I think they do look at your monthly spending when deciding on the amount you have to spend to qualify. We usually spend between $1500 and $2000 per month on it, sometimes we do go over $2000, but not usually. Our offer was for over $2250, BUT the kicker is that not all purchases qualify - only those in certain categories.
