I see that the tender schedule doesn't allow passengers to head to Georgetown until 10:30 a.m and you are only in port until 4:00 p.m. I don't typically join Disney Excursions because I dislike time wasted gathering, waiting, boarding, etc. However, in this case it might be beneficial. Has anyone booked an excursion through Disney that got you off the ship and started before 10:30. We are hoping for an early jump, specifically with a Deluxe Stingray City tour, leaving time to explore 7 mile beach and more after our excursion.

I thought the snorkel we did in Cayman was early, but I can't be sure. It was the reef & Kittiwake snorkel.

Is it true Grand Cayman wont start their tours until 2022? I thought i read that somewhere.

Snorkel with stingrays was awesome experience if still available there.

We did the morning DCL Stingray City trip and were on one of the first tenders off the boat. We didn’t try to do anything else after but I seem to recall getting back to the ship after Cabanas had closed for lunch and so having to get food from the quick serve locations, so not sure if you would have time for a beach trip after.

Under their current reopening plan, cruise ships may begin to return in January 2022.
Hmmm. I wonder what that means for those of us on the December 2021 cruises that are scheduled to stop there (assuming the December cruises sail, and Grand Cayman doesn't change). I wonder if they'd substitute a different port, give a day at sea, or what? It would be disappointing to miss GC...

either another port (probably Costa Maya) or sea day. Just because the ships start cruising, we also have to watch when we are allowed back into these ports.

When we were on the Fantasy in '19, the Port Adventures scheduled through DCL were the first people off the boat and on the tenders. If I remember right, they started around 10/10:15 AM before they offered tenders to everyone else looking to go ashore by themselves. We ended up going around 11:15 and got on to the Island by 11:45.

For Grand Cayman, the Port Adventures all seemed very quick to leave instead of the normal "waiting around" you are talking about which is really nice. They know that the time in port is much more limited so they did a great job getting everyone to their destinations quickly.

Another thing we have always been told: if you book Port Adventures through DCL and there is some kind of delay, They make the ship aware so they wait for you as opposed to touring on your own. We've never been put in that position so not 100% sure on the accuracy of that.

If you book through Disney, they guarantee they will get you back on the ship. This might mean that the ship stays in port longer, but it may also mean that Disney pays to get you to the next port.

We aren't cruising until June 2022, so hopefully all will be open. Looks like booking Stingray Adventure through Disney is best choice. Thanks for the input. :earsboy:
