Early room access poll....

If you arrive before the posted 4PM "room ready" / check-in time, is your DVC room actually ready?

  • It was ready when I got there, in spite of me getting there before the posted 4PM "check-in" time.

If you arrive before the posted 4PM "room ready" / check-in time, how often is your DVC room actually ready for occupancy early?

Just trying to see if there is a trend.

thanks!

I said yes it was ready. But really often I don't get a text until around 1 or 2PM. We have only had two late check ins after 4:00 PM one of the at BLT was until 5:30. And then they never text us we had to check with the desk. But that was a few years ago too. I cannot remember the other late resort, but DH agrees we have had two.

Majority of the time ready between 2 and 4 PM. A few times between 5 and 7:30.

Room ready time is dependent on how busy the resort is, time of year, and what your room requests are. If you request next available or room ready, you will get in earlier.

A few years ago people were sending a family member a day earlier to get the room, work out any issues and allow early arrival for the rest of their party.

Our room has pretty much always been ready when we arrive or within an hour. We go most of time in September but it has also happened to us in May. We normally arrive in the morning as well like 1030-11am not any later. I realize that a lot of it is because we do not go during busy times. Hoping we will have the same luck this September too.

Last three times, room has not been ready until 4 or after. Prior history was about 50% of time room was ready when I arrived before 4 (usually between 1 and 3)

We checked into a bungalow at the Polynesian and it was not ready until almost 6:00 PM. That is 187 points for 6 hours left in the day. I'm glad we were there more nights.

About half the time, it's been ready when we arrive early. The other half we are kept waiting. We seldom take early morning flights any more. For our upcoming F&W trip, we are arriving at MCO at 8:10 am - we are not expecting to get into the room when we arrive and will hit the parks right away.

At the Poly on 5/8, it was ready at 1:15pm. At BWV last December it was ready around 2:45pm. Both times I got a text while on the bus.

Early this May I had a 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds that was refurbished and it was ready at 1:30 when I got there!
It made me very happy!

Usually I'm in the room before 4, but I have waited until past 6 twice, both times at BWV. Now, at VB, it seems our room is almost never ready before 4, but even with getting a Beach Cottage, our latest time is maybe 4:30. We try not to get to VB much before 3:30.

Stayed at the BLT In early April this year and was able to check in before 4 PM without any delays or hassel.

Most of the time our room is ready around 2PM or studios. The longest we have waited was BLT ST (5:30) and OWK 1BR (5:30). We also had a BWV ready at 10AM!! When we got to the front, it was not quite the room we wanted and were willing to wait until one opened up on a higher floor. We didn't mind the wait and it was ready at 4 :)

We usually arrive between 8:30-9:30 am and have had a room ready twice (once at Kidani (standard 1 bed) and once at BLT 1 bedroom theme park view). I will say we have very specific room requests and always tell the person checking us in that we will absolutely wait until whenever to get our request. We've always waited until 3:30 or later to get a 1 or 2 bedroom standard view at BLT.

Out of 10 trips, our room was only ready early once, and this was at BWV.

I've noticed that when I have a studio booked, I seem to get the room ready text earlier. For 1 bedroom usually 2-4pm and when I have had a 2 bedroom, I seem to wait until 5-6 o'clock.
I don't book a 2br very often, so my results are probably skewed from what's normal.

Can not take the poll.
We arrive at whichever resort usually @ 09:30 and the room is available @3 out of 5 times.
Only 1 time in over 140+ DVC vacations have we not had our room ready before 4 PM.

We had a standard studio at AKV-Jambo for the 2015 Expedtion Everest weekend. We arrived on a Thursday morning, landing in Tampa at 10am. I got a text at 11am that our room was ready and we could bypass the front desk.

Not DVC, but when my mom and I stayed at Pop Century in October 2015, we got our room-ready text while we were on the DME bus on the way to the resort. This was also around 10am.
