I will be doing the mmickey head paint chip..I have to get out to home Depot and pick some up but I will be wearing one that sayd dzneprincess and if I can convince my DH his will say dzneprincessDH! LOL

Okay, do tell. Where is the HRC in the Bahamas? Is it walking distance from the ship? I've been trying to figure out things to do while there (other than shopping the straw market, of course), cuz I'm really not excited about any of the shore excursions.

It is walking distance from the ship. From what I remember it is on Charlotte street.

Hi! I haven't posted on this thread in a long time, but I got my documents last week and we got upgraded. The original sailing party was me, my husband, and my mom. Well, last week due to Hurricane Katrina my husband's National Guard unit was deployed to New Orleans so now I am in the process of canceling everything for him. Luckily we had bought trip insurance so I should be able to get all of the money back. Now it's going to be a mother-daughter cruise!!!

JOanna, I am sorry your DH wont be able to join you! I am sure yall were looking forward to this trip! Maybe you can rebook once onboard for a great rate! Congrats on the upgrade! I was upgraded as well to 2598 ( Cat 9)...Is anyone going to be near us?

Yes you can walk to the HRC from the ship, as you walk out the port, turn right on the first street were all the cabs are and along the water, just keep walking as if your going to the straw market, then the 2nd street is Charlotte Street you will see the Harley Davidson shop, turn left and the HRC is on the left and the Harley shop is on the right, if you go up to Bay street (the main drag) you will see a Subway shop, turn right and the HRC is on the right, the store in downstairs, and the cafe is upstairs. If you need more info, see me on the ship and will be more then happy to help you out.

Hi Everyone!
Can't believe we're leaving in a week! Alot going on here.
My sister aka "Tommysmommy" , her grandmother-in-law who she was extremely close with, passed away this weekend unexpectedly. Not sure yet how this will affect our upcoming trip. I'm praying for their family.

Also, starting to get alittle nervous about Ophelia. I'm flying in from Charlotte and the other sisters are coming in from Philly. We have ressies for the Radisson at the port, but wondering if we should have them near the airport instead (inland). I've been keeping an eye on the other cruises before us. Looks like Ft. Lauderdale could be a possibility, but it all depends on the storm. One news station here thinks it'll be affecting Charlotte by next Friday (I fly Saturday morning). This storm is fickle and no one knows where it'll go. It could loop around and hit Florida again, who knows.

On a positive note, other sister traveling with us found out this week that she and hubby are expecting their second child.

HRC - how many HRC's have you been to?

Our costumes are done for pirate night and we're working on our door decorations. I'm bouncing off the walls, can't wait. I have two more days of work (Mon and Tues), we fly out from Omaha on the 15th! YIPPEE!

Got the suitcases out last night and started packing!!! Woohoo! My DD5 just started coughing last night too though and has a green tongue. Ugh! Pray for us and that neither of our kids get sick! Lots of OJ and chicken noodle soup and rest for her this week...plus the vitamins. She said 2 kids at her table at kindergarten missed friday due to being sick, so its possible she caught a cold. I just hope its a mild one and leaves in a day or 2...just like Ophelia! haha. I read on weather channel they expect it to hit south carolina possibly tuesday morning. I've also been checking weather channel's forecast for orlando, cape, and nassau for our dates. All mention possibility of thunderstorms and rain right now, but it may still be too far off to really predict.

Woohoo....Next sat this time I'll be on my way to the cape!

I'm glad to find this thread! DW, DD1, and I will be on the 9/18 sailing! We found out about 2 weeks ago that we were upgraded from the cat 8 that we requested (5518) to a cat 5 (7020). It's nice to be upgraded to a veranda room (our first upgrade in four sailings), but we actually requested 5518 due to its location and the fact that it DOESN'T have a veranda. With DD1 walking for the last 3 months, the door to the veranda probably won't be open much. Kind of a shame, really. I guess it doesn't matter either way. We won't be at work, will be together as a family, and will be surrounded by everything Disney. 8 days and counting...

P.S. Thanks HRCCrazy...been trying to figure out where HRC is down there. Last time I looked, the HRC web site was pretty useless. Now that I look again, it appears to have been improved. It's about time! But I still think your directions are better!

It show how bad I have it, when I can tell you how, where, and what to look for in a foreign country.

We fly out Wed night, have a red eye Phoenix to Las Vegas, then to Orlando.
This week will go by so slow now, off to put the dog out, so I can get the suitcases down, the dog goes crazy when he see them, as he know's were going somewhere, so we have to keep him outside while packing, and then hide the bags, or he won't leave us alone.

I'm trying to make my first door sign, and I scan the green Micky head from home depot, and was going to put my nick name in one ear, and my state in the other, not sure what to put in the face of it, if anything.
It the size of 8 x 11 paper, I try to look at the door sign posting on the board, but I'm still on dial-up and after 10 mins, only 3 sign showed up.
Any thoughts??

I've never been on one of these cruises, nor have I seen other door signs, but, we just put my user name in the head part, and disboards.com around the bottom. Putting the state on there is a good idea, too.

I am right there with you. I am NOT a planner, I always have good intentions of planning ahead I never actually do it. I can not sleep on my bed right now because I have 6 stacks and 1 huge mound of clothes.
What we each are wearing for:
AP
PC
Tritons
Palo Brunch
Palo Dinner
Pirate Night
and a mound of casual clothes to wear during the day.

I would like to have our clothes completely packed tomorrow and just need to throw in our toiletries before we leave (except I am not sure I have enough clothes to get me through to Sunday, my kids of course will have plenty of clothes to get them through ).

It will be here before we know it!!

Got the boarding passes printed off, and I'm out of here in less then 20 hours, we fly out late wed. night, and get in to Orlando at 6AM Thurs.

After 9 months of planning, it's time to set sail, and when I get home I have 51 weeks of planning for next years cruise.
