Early Roll Call For January 29, 2005 western....Anyone Out There?

Welcome aboard njdrumrun.

Is it January yet! We had a high of 5 degrees today. It isn't suppossed to warm up to the 20's until Sunday.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

the weather here is wacky as usual. two days ago...with wind chill it was just below zero. today we will have a high of 60 degrees. no wonder everyone is sick.

right now it is 77 degress on grand cayman with a high of 86. :cheer2:

key west is also 77 with a high of 82.

Ok, so right now in beautiful Fort Collins, Colorado it is 11 degrees below zero. That's not windchill, that's the actual temperature!

As Jimmy Buffett says, "I want to go where it's warm"! :cool2:

Merry Christmas All!

John

Well it's Christmas eve and it's down right cold in Wisconsin now. As I type this the temp outside is -22 Yah that's 22 degrees below zero and that's not with the wind chill. BRRRR!!! Merry Christmas to all of you and your families and have a safe and happy holiday. :flower:

-22 is very cold...yikes!!! I once lived in Alaska for 3 years and saw -78 below without windchill. It was probably colder but but the needle on the thermometer had no where else to go. I took pictures of that!!!!

But......rest assured, in 32 or so days....we will be in warm warm tropics.....and even if its not 80 or 90....it will be so much better than the weather we are leaving......

Cant wait to go....want to meet you all if we can swing it!!!!!

The Wog.....you can still come....its not too late!!!!!!!!!

Tracy

We are on this cruise with our 2 kids, ages 11 and 9. See you all there!

P.S. We're from Wisconsin, too! Green Bay, and yes, it's still freezing. We're supposed to get a heat weave this week, though - up to 35 degrees!

Welcome aboard JackieV! We are warming up, right now we have 7 above zero. Well now that Christmas is over I am ready to start packing. :boat:

Clarry

79 degrees in grand caymen :cool1:

-22 is a reason to not live in WI. now you must know, i would live in florida if i could get my hubby to move there! so i guess that means i love him since i haven't called the movers yet?

Now that the holidays are essentially behind us, I just can't stand the waiting!! I've pulled out all my planning notes from this board and my Passporter. I'm going into heavy duty planning mode now. I'll probably do some preliminary packing over New Year's! :flower1:

Is anyone else thinking about rebooking while on board to take advantage of the discount and onboard credits?? I'm getting quotes now from a couple of TAs and DCL for 11/06 just for comparison purposes.

What other pre-cruise preparations are you all doing??

Has anyone booked excursions?

I am looking to do Golf (Cozumel), Dolphins (Coxumel), Fishing (Castaway Cay), Wind Surfing (Castaway Cay) and Stingray (Grand Cayman)....anybody doing any of these or others?

Can't wait :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Looking forward to going on our first cruise, first honeymoon, and first memories of the carribean. Hope to meet great people making magical memories too. We are Disney-philes and this will round out our last wonder of Disney's attractions. Any other honeymooners out there on the same cruise?

Welcome newbies! You picked one of the best weeks of all to cruise!I hope everyone had a nice Christmas!!! Let"s get this New Years over with and get packin'! :smooth: I am 70% finished packing. Am I obsessive-yes! We are officially in "cruise mode" now. I 'm checking ressies for pre and post cruise. Towncar service, Universal passes, etc. We are ready! If only our docs would come.........
njrumrun-What is your daughters name? We have a 5 1/2 year old daughter Ciara and there are lots of little ones around on this cruise that are her age princess: !!!
mamacrush- We would never consider NOT rebooking while onboard. The perks are too good to pass up and it helps leaving theMagic at the end of the cruise knowing that you'll be back.
Will anybody be up for a DIS meet on that first "day at sea"?
HAPPY NEW YEAR! :jumping1:

disneylover-i have our excursions booked and have changed two of them already. get them booked we wanted catamaran sail in key west. it was sold out two weeks ago. i've heard stingrays are awesome from MANY people. i was told that dolphin discovery can be chin high water and might not be good for younger kids. i didn't want to hold my 6 y.o. the whole time so we picked a snorkle excursions. i thought i'd be more disappointed but...anything will be awesome!

mariamaid-glad you said that about the week we picked. i wanted a off-rush week. pay less and less people. daughter is rachel. she'll be at the lab on sunday afternoon as soon as it opens. i have a feeling(from what i've been told) that we will have to drag here away from there?

about rebooking- i've seen there is a 10% discount and a $200 stateroom credit for doing it while we are onboard. anything else i need to look for?

as for a meet up? i am in! just tell me where and when..think it's best to let the experienced pick the spot/time. :earboy2:

79 degrees in grand cayman this morning. :cool1:

Happy New Year everyone!

I haven't started packing yet, but have everything put aside to pack. 4 weeks from today we fly to Orlando.

Don't have any excursions booked. Would like to do the trolley in key west, the turtle farm on Grand Cayman, I think DD's 5 & almost 3 would like these.

We have already booked for 1-21-2006 eastern. We are going to check the prices on board to see if we could get a better deal.

Yea! Happy New Year!! :wizard: :wizard: 2005 is here and I can not believe it~!

We had 80 people over last night (mostly under 18 years) but enough adults to have some fun!

Ok...I am ready to cruise. Let's go now! :teleport: :teleport:

Well, we broke the temp record here today for Jan 1st! We were 70 degrees. :cool1: :cool1:

We put on our shorts and made fun crusie drinks and sat out on the deck and pretended we were on the cruise already. It was even too hot for the dog and she had to go back in. We feel very lucky!!

Hope everybody else had as wonderful a day as we did!

Not here in Wisconsin. It's about 30 and we are waiting to get hit by an ice storm anytime now. Anyone got there DOCS yet or know if they got an upgrade? Looks like the ship is full, because they are not showing any rooms left at DCL site. Everybody stay healthy now.

i don't go back to work until tuesday. travel agent has that email so i'll find out then if we got an upgrade. she doubted it as it was selling well.

26 days til we leave for fla.

remember, i am a newbie...DOCS??? i got my excursion comfirmation.

key west now..68 degrees. GC 79, high of 83 :cheer2: cozomel-70, ho 84

lover5..80 people :earseek: ..not sure if my house could hold 80 people standing elbow to elbow.

DOCS stands for your cruise documents from Disney to get on the ship. They are sent from Disney to your travel agent who then sends them to you. They arrive anywhere from 10 days out, up to 30 days. Seems to be about 2-3 weeks right now.
