Early Park Admission to IOA for Potter

I've read on the UO website that vacation "packages", include one hour early admission to IOA for the 3 Potter attractions.

Does IOA usually open earlier than the posted opening time anyway?

I think they do every once in a while...it's not the norm though. I haven't been there at opening in years but I do remember early entry for passholders (summer hours) and hotel guests. If there thousands of people waiting outside the gates, I would think the gates would be opened early.

I was told when I made my ressie that there would be early entry for on site guest to WWOHP. I hope she is right!!

I'm on the phone right now with reservations for our Nov. trip and yes all resort hotel guests are able to get into WWoHP an hour earlier than the parks open to all other guests.

That's good but that's not what the OP is asking. He's asking if IOA opens early all the time and it doesn't. He's not talking about the WWoHP packages but rather during times when the WWoHP packages are not available.

Every now and then the parks will open earlier than 9am because of the crowds waiting to enter but that doesn't happen every often. We know the packages include early opening but passholders have received early entry in the past.

The thread title is a little confusing since it mentions Potter but then asks about IOA opening early all the time anyway.

I hope they have a designated turnstile or two (or three) for this early entry.

For the package people and resort guests, it'll still be plenty of people.

A couple years ago they let AP holders in an hour early and there was mass confusion and let's just say it wasn't a pleasant experience
