Is there an Early Online Check-in Service for Royal Pacific Resort similar to what Disney offers?

no early online check in that i am aware of.
but you can check in as early as you like in person.

you need to get your photo ep card after you check in.
you need your room key for that.

Thanks for the info. Do I get the park tickets at the hotel since I booked a package or do I need to go to the park to get those?

last year i had friends that booked a package and they received their tickets when they checked into the hotel.

you could call the hotel and ask if that system has changed.
since i no longer book packages, i don't keep up with changes that pertain to them.

If your package information that you received in an email says kiosk pickup, you can use any kiosk that is in front of the park or the ones in the hotel lobbies.

The package information didn't mention anything about picking up the park tickets at the hotel. But it did mention picking them up at the Kiosks outside the parks. When we get to the hotel I'll ask to see if we can pick them at the hotel.

Thanks macraven. You seem to be an expert at staying Universal. This is a bit off topic, but I thought I would ask. Do you know if it's much cheaper to book everything separately as opposed to as a package. For example, book your hotel room by calling the hotel, purchasing park tickets online, etc. Or do you get a better deal buying as a package say through an authorized universal travel agent? I've read that you can do better by not booking as a package.

if it stated to pick up the tickets at the kiosk, then that is the way to go.
if you can get the tickets from the kiosk outside the parks, the kiosk in the hotel lobby should also be able to issue them to you.

i have found booking everything separate is the best and easiest for me.
if a room rate changes, you can call and have your rate modified without any penalties.
buy park tickets from a third party vendor/maple leaf, ut, etc

booking everything separate, can be cheaper.

if you need tickets for 3 days or more, it can be cheaper buying from the discount places for them rather then UO website.
i haven't checked lately but possibly the 2 day tickets are cheaper with the other vendors also.

if you have a package, there is a $50 penalty fee added for any changes you make.
if you change from rpr to pbr, $50 fee.
if you change a date of your package, $50 fee.
add a day onto your park tickets, ching ching, fee imposed again.

loews has an inclement weather policy.
if you are 1 or 2 days out from arrival for your booked stay and storms prevent you flying out and then your new flight is a day later than planned, loews does not charge you anything to reschedule your room booking.
the policy is 6 days out is the last date you can cancel your room without penalty.
inclement weather waives that issue and you lose nothing.

booking room only requires a one night deposit at time of booking
pay the remainder of your stay when you check out of the hotel.

i stay for a length of time longer than most.
i can either set up a plan and pay in advance of my stay.
don't want to deal with that so i buy UO gift cards during the year and when i check in, i put all the gift cards on my account.
this way i don't have to put over $2500 on my cc when i check out.

booking a package requires you to pay the total cost in full by a specific date.
at one time it was 45 days out but don't know if that has changed to 30 days out.
change a stay that was made as a package, you pay money.
if you don't pay the full amount on the required date in advance, you lose your deposit.
terms are strict on packages which is why i don't recommend them.
you can buy the insurance with a package to avoid isolated problems.

break a leg and can't travel and booked a package with full insurance with them, would be the only way you won't lose what you already paid.

I know if you get to the RP early, they hold your luggage for you-but reading this post, I was thinking, if you're room isn't ready, since its still morning-can you still get your express pass for that morning?

Yes, they give you your room keys even if the room is not ready. Then take your key over to the express pass kiosk and print your express pass. When you room is ready they will text or call you with the room number. No need to stop by the front desk head straight to the room. If luggage is stored by them call star service and they will bring it up to the room.

Also, 99% of the time the package deals are not worth the hassle and are more expensive, book separate and be more flexible.

Yup. Any of the kiosks will work.

All good information. What did you mean when you said you could set up a plan and pay in advance. Also, where do you buy UO gift cards? Can you buy them online?

We usually book through a travel agent when we know we have the money in the bank to pay off our credit card. But I like the idea of not being charged ahead of time. And we have used UT in the past to buy our tickets, but you would have to put that on the credit card ahead of time.

you can go through the accounting department for the hotel and set up a pre payment plan for the total cost of your room.
pay it all off in advance or some of it.

i buy the universal gift cards online at the universal site.
that's the only place i am aware of for their purchase.

when i check into the hotel, i request the gift cards to be applied to the room charge.
i know in advance what the total room is costing me so i pay it off when i check in.

usually i over pay on my room with gift cards so i then charge back to the hotel while i am in the parks, restaurants at city and hotels and for merch i buy during my stay.
i have the merch delivered to my room so i don't have to carry bags with me in the park.
if i only have one more night stay, i have my merch sent to the front of the park and pick it up when i leave the park that night.

if you lose track of your park spending, use the tv in your room to bring up all the charges that are on your room account.

Thanks for all the great information.
