early mornings at MK - what's special to look for?

Hi,
We'll have 3 mornings at MK, including one EMH. I know to grab fastpasses and see Fantasyland and Toontown right at opening. Besides EMH rides, what are your favorite little things to savor during early mornings in the MK?
I'm hoping to have time to soak up some atmosphere and character magic with my DD (10 mos).
Thanks!

Toontown isn't part of EMH mornings, so you'd have to wait until 10AM to go to that section of the park. It is very nice at 10AM. You might want to dash for Goofy's barnstormer an try to be on the first train with Goofy. :goofy:

I like the atmosphere, the dancers on main street and just soaking up the early morning sunshine... :goodvibes

crazy but i like the fact everything is so clean and empty. we go off season so the streets are usually still a little damp looking and it just looks different without many people and the nice morning light. plus sometimes there is a little nip in the air and it just seems more like a real place rather than all made up to me( I said it was crazy : :confused3 : ) we are always one of the first in line so the empty look doesn't last long

Does Goofy always ride the first barnstormer run of the day? This is my DD favorite ride and it would be cool for her to ride it with Goodfy.

Try to snag a fast pass on Peter Pan early.

It can be one of the most difficult rides to get on and it is the best of the dark rides.

I'd like to know about Goofy too, my boys love Goofy and DS3 loves the barnstormer, he could have rode it all day last time. We are going to try to get Peter Pan this year, we missed it last time. That will be after a few spins on Buzz though.

If you are there early enough, try to get a picture in front of the castle with no crowds. Last year we had ADRs at CP before the park opened and got a picture in front of the castle all alone.

You are not crazy or at least not the only one. I also love that clean, empty and damp look of the streets drying after their morning cleaning while walking in and being one of the first ones in the kingdom for the day! :)

I know this doesn't happen often, but one of our trips, Space Mountain was down during EMH (back when it was EE). So because of that, they opened the characters area in toontown. But most people didn't know they were open. My DS and I wandered back there, and were the ONLY ones around. DS was about 3 1/2 at the time, and we had a personal house tour by Mickey. I have some absolutely priceless pictures! So just keep your eye out for special moments like that. With fewer people in the park (and CMs fresh and not yet worn out by some of the difficult people), magical moments seem to happen more.

That's my favorite tip too -- especially since with Cinderellabration set up these days, nobody walks through the castle so it's easier than it used to be to get pictures alone.

Another odd little thing . . . once DS9 and I were the first people to ride Buzz Lightyear, where of course they take pictures in the ride. When we came out of the ride it was really funny to see all the cars empty in the pictures! :rotfl2:

We got on the first horse-drawn trolley of the day. After we started moving up Main Street the Barbershop Quartet got on the back of the trolley and seranaded us all the way. It was a great way to start the day.
