Anyone done any rollerblading around POR? Since they don't have a gym looking for a way to get in a workout - maybe around the parking areas - they look large, flat and fairly safe (at 6 AM anyway)

What about the walkways/paths between POR and POFQ?

Anyone know of any Disney policy on rollerblading in the resorts? A search of the WDW site give absolutely no hits

I would call, i would be suprised if they said no in light of the bikes and horse carriages as well as the carts housekeeping and staff use between POR & POFQ...that being said, the loop i run is about 2.5 miles, this includes looping at the end of POFQ and passing thru the parking lot, to the front of POFQ, pass the bus stop, and reconnecting with the walking path to complete a figure 8 type loop...with rollerblades i would be leary of and time spent in the parking lot, you just never know with cars, and the path by POR near the DH is wood plank covered and would be slow going. One of the reasons I enjoy POFQ & POR are the runs I get to take to enjoy and soak in the beautiful grounds around my favorite resort in the world :) Have a safe a fun trip :)

I know inline skates are not allowed at the parks. The walkway from POR to POFQ might be surprisingly busy at 6am. People run there. Guests walk from one resort to the other for a different breakfast. Disney utility vehicles are on the walkways. There's already chaos on these paths without adding skates.

As for the parking lots, again, there's car traffic and utility vehicles. On the road surrounding the parking lots, that looks very tempting, but we walked there once and there was lots of big vehicle traffic. Deliveries, laundry vehicles, buses, even that early in the am.

My personal opinion, first, leave the skates behind. Second, think of the workout you'll get walking the parks in the heat/humidity. It's miles around each park and you will definitely feel you got a workout by the end of each day.

Good luck. :)

Leave them at home. Safer for you. Safer for the guests and CMs around you. Unless you are planning on doing this in the middle of the night, there will always be people out and about. And if you're walking 10-15 miles a day in the parks do your legs really need additional workout?

Skates aren't permitted at the resorts or at the parks.

True! We saw a CM getting onto a kid at CSR a little over a year ago. His dad was running on the path around the lake and he was skating alongside him. As we walked past, we heard the CM telling them that skates were not allowed either in the parks or at the resorts. Dad was really pissed, saying the kid wasn't hurting anything, but the CM didn't back down and told them the kid couldn't use them. We were on our way to fill our mugs, so this was early in the morning, still sort of dusky dark, so other than people going to fill their mugs or out jogging, it wasn't busy. It was a CM driving one of those little carts that got onto them.

I don't think I would like someone rollerblading down the path, especially if I had little ones. But, that being said I had mentioned to my dh that since we are early risers we should get out and run in the morning during our trip. But then he quickly reminded me we will be exercising all day, walking around. :thumbsup2 And that's from someone who runs everyday! So, if I were you I would take a break from the 'exercising' during vacation, but if you can't go for a morning jog instead. :)

For future trips, consider a stay at CSR. It's in the same price range as POR but does have a gym for its guests.

As others have said they don't allow it.

However, they do have .7 mile jogging path which becomes a mile if you jog over to POFQ.

In the resort guide/map booklet that they give you at check-in says skating, skateboarding, etc are not allowed on WDW resort sidewalks, roadways, or parking lots.
