I thought I read somewhere you can have breakfast at the Crystal Palace before the park officially opens. I have two questions.

1.) Is it possible?

and

2.) If so, how do I go about getting reservations and, can you use dining plan or do you have to pay cash?

1) Yes of course its possible! I have had a few pre-park-opening reservations/ADR. You have to make the ADR at the 180 day mark. Go to the disney website to make reservations. click here To search a specific restaurant, type the name in the search bar, then click on the restaurant when it appears...from there it'll prompt you to enter the date/time you want. Good luck!

2) You can pay by credit card, cash, disney gift card, or Dining Plan. If you're staying at a disney resort, you can charge it to your room with your magic band (of course you have to set this up at your resort by providing the front desk with a credit card).

1) Sure it is possible, but
. . . park opening hours change frequently
. . . you may have made the early ressie, only to find out the park opens at 8:00am
2) Call at the 180-day mark, as listed above.

Crystal Palace opens for breakfast reservations at 8am. Usually the MK park "officially" opens at 9am, but hours can vary.

CP costs one credit per person on the dining plan. You can make a reservation at 180 days using the website or Disney dining phone number.

Forgot to mention one thing. Unless things have changed, online you can start making ADRs at 6am (EST). If you call you have to wait til 7am. So you get an hour head start if you do it online. If you wait til 7am, the only thing left at CP might be after 9am for example. You get the idea. :)

Just so you are aware. With the changes to Magic Kingdom opening since early January it is now a huge disadvantage to have a Crystal Palace Pre-park ADR. You will finish your meal in 45 minutes to an 1 hour to walk out of the restaurant and be behind thousands of people already queuing for the mad dashes to Space Mountain, Princess Fairytale Hall and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Yes, I agree, it's def. a disadvantage now. We used to book PPO ADR's, so we weren't wasting low crowd park time, but with the way they're doing the opening now, we've decided we won't be doing CP for our upcoming trip...unless something changes which I'm sure won't.

Im not too concerned about getting stuck in rope drop crowd, I was just looking forward to getting in before our Crystal Palace breakfast to see Magic Kingdom without big crowds! With 8am reservation thats still possible right?

This is absolutely true and, as others have noted, Disney often changes MK opening time from 9 am to 8 am with very little notice.

That being said, we have an 8 am ADR at Crystal Palace for our upcoming trip. I thought about moving it back to, say, around 10 am, but DD won't be able to wait that long to eat and will end up snacking and ruining her appetite. In any event, I think we'll be fine because we have 3 MK days planned for this trip and are only planning to standby Haunted Mansion and Pirates on our Crystal Palace day (which I don't think will be that bad between 9 and 10 am, even if Disney moves up MK opening time to 8 am).

What I don't know is how empty Main Street is these days between about 7:45 and 8 am (when MK opens at 9) with the new opening procedure.

Barely. People with ADRs can get in at 7:45am. Everyone else can enter MK and stay on Main Street/the Hub after 8am.

They have been letting everyone in around 7:45/7:50 so while yes, you can get photos with relatively low crowds if you are there to get in that early, it won't be as empty as it was before the new changes.

Is it clear where you go for Pre Park Open ADRs? We have a BOG bfast in our trip and I knew exactly where to go to get in early back then but now I'm not so sure.

You get in with everyone else. There is not a special line for ADR's any longer. Once in, at the Hub end of Main Street, on the left hand side, nearish Casey's will be a sign indicating check in for ADR's

Or, look at it another way: If you plan Crystal Palace for a day you start in Adventureland/Frontierland, want some Pooh toast and a hug from Eeyore, there is no disadvantage in a Crystal Palace PPO.

We had an 8:25 on a day MK opened at 8, before the new process. We kept our ADR because my daughter wanted hugs from Piglet, we all wanted breakfast, and, POOH OKAY I LIKE POOH.

We had no problem doing anything we wanted on that side of the park when done with breakfast, and also did a bunch of stuff in Fantasyland with 4th+ FP+ and just waiting in lines (15-20 minute type lines, no big). It was busy, that's why they were opening at 8.

The value of a Crystal Palace breakfast is not in omg beating rope drop. The value of CP is Eeyore.

Yay signage! Thank you! All these changes were starting to stress me out!

We love the characters at CP but the food wasn't nearly as good last week as it was six years ago when we went there. DH, who is definitely not a picky eater says he's not going back. It's a shame, as CP is such a pretty venue.
