I have a preferred AP; does anyone know which park is doing Early Morning on Saturday, September 17? I cannot find where I can find this information!! TIA!

Hmm, really? That's a little strange. I bought my pass this week. Thank you!!

You should call them and see. Someone else reported that an old pass gets the old benefits.

As far as I knew it was a maybe, maybe not, on if you get early entry into the park and that was only on the week days. Did they just change it so you get early entry period if you bought a new pass, or renewed?

This is unfortunate news. I renewed my preferred AP back in March, before the announcement of upgraded benefits, so it appears I won't get them. And I was already steamed about not getting any notification of "passholder appreciation days" before leaving for my trip last month. Oh well. :charac2:

With the new system in place , no one is grandfathered in for new perks

But you will get them when you renew your AP next year

Good to know! Thanks, everyone. A bummer for sure, and I can only imagine what a nightmare it'll be for the team members to manage. But excited for this good perk when my AP auto-renews next year.

Yeah, that's not *at all* how I've read my recent emails. I can't find it right now, but I got an email basically staying "these are your new benefits" and it didn't say "once you renew". Just "these are your benefits".

Of course I was already gone LOL.

If they are saying people can't get them yet, that's rotten.

MIChess, this is in my newest passholders email, just in case it might help:

I put some spaces in there. Probably obvious. Close up the gaps and it should be simple to add that to your addresses or list.

And the current Passholders email says there's an event 9/15, in case you're about to run back there.
NEW - Loews Sapphire Falls Resort EventPassholders and their guests can attend an exclusive Carnival Caribbean event at Loews Sapphire Falls Resort on September 15, 2016 from 6:30-8:30pm. Entertainment and food will be provided. Passholders and their guests will enjoy food stations from all Loews Sapphire Falls Resort dining venues as well as one (1) free welcome rum drink.

Tickets are required and are available for $45 for adults and $23 for children (3-9 years old).
September 15, 2016 from 6:30-8:30pm

It's all under the Passholder Benefits page: https://www.universalorlando.com/Theme-Park-Tickets/Annual-Passes/Benefits.aspx

Definitely a tease and kind of unfair, especially with that email. What's the point in announcing it if you cannot have it? Is it really going to hurt them to give everyone the benefits now? I mean, eventually it's going to happen anyway...

How are they managing to tell if one can have EE and one cannot? Are they scanning passes to tell when they received / renewed them at a certain time, or not?

The way I read the email it means all get the same benefits ... updated means to me that you get the benefit..

Exciting New Changes For Our Preferred Annual Passholders.

Now's the best time to be an Annual Passholder. We are introducing new and updated benefits for Preferred Annual Passholders, such as:

• A year of Early Park Admission^ to one Universal Orlando™ theme park (Universal Studios Florida™ or Universal's Islands of Adventure™) as determined by Universal Orlando one hour before the park opens (valid theme park admission required) with select blockout dates.

For further information on the updated benefits, please visit the Annual Pass page on UniversalOrlando.com.

Be really good to get the facts on this! Fingers crossed for all you preferred passholders!

I won't be going back until next year, probably late Jan or Feb, but still at the tail end of my current AP so the benefits upgrade won't apply. In all candor, EE does not do much for me anyway as I am generally too lazy to show up early while on holiday. I did reread the email about the new benefits; it has language about "additional restrictions may apply" and I guess one of those restrictions is that pre-existing APs are out of luck. I just wish I had known about the Express Pass discount (since I did buy a EP one day) and the passholder evening that took place on Aug 20. Despite years of adding addresses to whitelists, keeping my profile updated, and who knows what else, most of the time I still never get notified about upcoming deals/events, or else I hear about them after they've ended. That is probably the way it's always going to be. I still like the parks a lot and will continue coming as long as I can manage it budgetarily.

Yeah, best way to find out is just show up and see what happens I guess. However, I won't be going again until a little while, so perhaps by then more preferred pass holders might be able to report on whether they were able to enjoy the new benefits, or not.

Has there been any news on this recently? Are pre-existing AP holders being told that the "new" benefits won't become active until their next renewal? I am planning a trip starting the tail-end of January, before renewal time for my preferred AP, and I'm a little curious about whether I would be entitled to early entry (even though I may or may not use it).

no one has reported anything yet but i plan to get more info when i am there in about 12 days.
( my preferred ap is valid thru april 15 next year)

maybe someone will report here for this discussion before i do.

I haven't been going so much due to how hot it is with it being summer, but I was thinking about going possibly sometime this week since I have more time off this week than I normally do so I could report, but once again it's so hot to me!

I renewed my AP the day before the new prices/structure. Today I got an email about passholder benefits, and this was included:

Just For Preferred Passholders.

As a Preferred Passholder, you receive Early Park Admission*, to one Universal Orlando™ theme park, one hour before the park opens with select blockout dates.

So unless this was some sort of error, I am assuming those of us who purchased the "old" preferred pass are grandfathered into this new perk.
