Early January trip

We are thinking of going to disneyland january 4-8, 2017 which is ironic as we live 30 mines from disneyworld but my wife is dying to see it. I just had a couple questions if you do not mind.

1)Will the haunted mansion still be decorated as the nightmare before christmas. She has wanted to see this for as long as I can remember.

2)Crowds- how bad will it be. I read that the crowds are not bad at all starting on january 3rd but I also read they were. Are there any locals who know or anyone else who has been there?

There is a decent chance that HM will still have the NBC overlay but I'd check the closures. Past years it's gone to the 11th but as early as the 6th.

Crowds won't be too bad during that time as most people have to return home after their holidays. The parks won't be dead but it definitely won't be a summer or winter holiday crowds.

If you've never been to Disneyland Resort I highly recommend staying on property- the Disneyland Hotel is my favorite of the three.

Thanks. I would assume that disneys christmas decorations will be up still. I am still in mourning at losing Osbourne lights. I wish I could stay on disney property but I have to watch our money. I have well over 100k marriott rewards points so I can stay at that marriott courtyard anaheim theme park entrance hotel across the street that goes over $300 a night for free for 4 nights.

We went this past Jan for the second weekend. It was busy but not packed. We saw the second showing of PTN and sat down on Main Street 15 min before the parade started and got great spots!

Just a heads up. SoCal isn't like FL in January. Where the weather is perfect where you're at with a slight chance of cold weather, SoCal will be chilly and probably rainy. Our rain season is the exact opposite of FL.
