Found an awesome rate today out of DFW for $127rt on USair, however it means leaving MCO on a 0530hrs flight, to get any decent flight times it will cost $216rt. If we took early time what time would I need towncar to pick us up from Pop at?

Probably around 4 AM. One good thing about early flights is you usually don't have to worry about delays.

Ticket counter propably opens at 5 along with curbside. Check your airlines website for details and if you check in curbside it wouldn't take very long and you could be through security.

You would be surprised how many folks take early flights so allow enough time.

My local airport opens at 4:30 am.
Remember when you get to airport you still have to take the tram to your actual gate area. This does not add much time but if your running late it makes for a stressful moment.
I woule leave at 4:00 am and arrive at airport at 4:30 that is only 1 hour till takeoff and most airlines are boarding 25-30 minutes before takeoff so it will be close. You could also look to see how many other flights USAir has leaving around that time and yo could judge how busy the counter might be.
I would fly the bad time to save the money.

I have us booked on a 6:30am flight out of MCO on our departure day for the same reasons. USAir had $98 RT for PHL--> MCO!!!

You may want to consider spending your last night in the airport at the Hyatt instead of at PopC. The cost will be higher but you'll already be at the airport in the morning...one less hassle.

Crazy Idea -

I did this once on a solo trip, plus I was using Mears.

I had a 5:30 am flight home, so I checked out of my resort the day before with late checkout resting till about noon, and getting bags to storage by 1pm, then I was off to the parks, then PI. I closed PI down, then took the bus back to my resort, then got my day bag out of storage and got permission to use the pool showers to freshen up.

Mears picked me up about 3:30 am. I slept on the bus, slept on the plane, then when I got home, went to work.

This may not work for you, but it can be done.

Not sure how long your trip is BUT you're killing your last day. You won't even have time for a character breakfast.

I'd look at the last flight the previous night (you'll save one night hotel) or the early flight the NEXT morning.
