Early Entry just for HP Package?

I am sure this is buried somewhere in the 100's of threads on Harry Potter, but I couldn't find anything specific. Is the "Early Entry" that is mentioned in the Harry Potter vacation package specific to the package or is that a benifit all on site guests get? We are just staying for one night on a AAA rate, so the package seemed like overkill.

Thanks in advance!

Although not definite, we have heard that all onsite guests will get the 1 hour early admission.

I asked about the early entry thing when I booked our package for June and I was told that one hour prior to park opening ONLY the HP package people would be let in, but that 30 minutes prior to park opening all other resort guests would be let in. So basically the HP package buys you 30 minutes of extra small crowds before the larger resort crowd enters (which still should be smaller than the full-on crowd you will encounter at official opening).

I hope it's true! Especially since the Express Passes that come with being a resort guest won't be effective on the HP rides when WWOHP first opens.

Other rumors have said that the only ride that won't be unlimited express is the new Harry Potter ride. It will be a one time per day express for on-site guests. The former Dueling Dragons and other kids roller coaster have been rumored to be unlimited. That is what has been posted on here from the rumor circuit.

That's right. I'd forgotten they'd told me you could use express pass once for Forbidden Journey; not that you couldn't use it at all. But it is just once per day.
I had it in my notes but haven't looked back at them lately. It's so grand how quickly my mind forgets!

Most have been told early Entry 1 hour before park opens for onsite guests as well, although seems if you talk to Universal Guest services, they give conflicting info, some say yes and others say no.
Will need to wait till it opens and see what onsite guests post about it.
Cannot see us being there at 8am to get in, as we stay onsite so we do not have to rush to the parks.

We just booked three nights in July at RPR. We have APs, so there's no reason for us to book a package. I discussed this with the young woman who took our reservations and told her that there was some conflicting information "on the streets" about who would get in an hour early, etc. She said that the reservation specialists had all been given a memo about the one time per day express pass for Forbidden Journey AND about the one hour early entry FOR ALL ON-SITE GUESTS (package or not). So, at least all those who are actually selling reservations believe that all on-site guests will be getting in one hour early after May 28.

Who knows what will actually happen.

Julie

I'm waiting to see what they come up with for a Passholder Preview.

The people trying to sell the packages are the only ones who seem to be saying that it's not for all resort guests.

Thanks everyone... I don't feel so bad asking now with all the conflicting information that is being given from the Universal camp :) I guess we will all just have to wait and see once this thing officially opens up! Can't wait!

The hotels aren't owned by Universal so I suspect Loews is still working out a deal with Universal Orlando. Possibly certain packages have already been negotiated with Univ. Orlando but as far as everyone staying onsite getting in an hour early, they may not have decided specifically on this yet, thus the conflicting information. It may be dependent on the number of people who have purchased packages. I am sure they would have first priority since they were already promised on hour early entry.

When I booked in Jan before the HP package was announced the Universal rep stated that we would have early entry to IOA. She stated that the Hulk and spiderman would be open early if HP was not.
Do you think that we would be let in early but not for HP? If that were the case I would ride spiderman and the hulk and just wait at the entrance of HP. It would still be a huge advantage to be in the park!!!!:thumbsup2

This is right from the Universal Web Site. I hope this is right!!!
