Hey!
On our departure day DHS has EMH from 8-9AM. We where thinking of spending an hour in the park then doing H&V breakfast (Not for character interaction, just to get a good amount of food in before we leave) @ 9:05AM. Our flight leaves from MCO at 1:30PM which I think means ME would pick us up at 10:30AM at POP. If we took a cab from DHS to POP would we be able to make it back before pick up time?

Thanks,

Thanks,

That's going to be very tight, given that 10:30 a.m. is the time the DME bus will be scheduled to leave POP. You should plan on being out at the DME pick up spot at POP by about 10:15 a.m. If you have any carry-on bags stored, you'll need to plan for at least 10 minutes or so to collect those. So, realistically, you probably want to be back at the resort by 10:00 a.m, which doesn't leave you much time for breakfast.

I'd personally take a pass on the breakfast.

It might actually be faster to take the bus than a taxi at that hour.

There usually aren't taxis waiting at the parks in the a.m., so you would have to call one & wait for it to arrive. The bus ride from DHS to Pop is about 10 minutes, and they run about every 10 minutes.

If you go to the parks on departure day, shoot to be back an hour before your Magical Express bus time. If you get back too late and you miss the bus then the world ends.

If your last activity is a meal, you will have much less anxiety (and perhaps save some indigestion) doing the meal at the airport near the little food court inside security.

I would not do it but if you do, I'd have the luggage checked for ME before I left for DHS.

I think bfast is pushing it, and even going for EMH with the rest of the morning stampede is going to make your departure day a little hectic IMO. How well does your family act when they are stressed :lmao: because you may all feel it wasn't worth it if you'd end up missing your ME bus.

Not to be a big ole party pooper, but it'd be much less stressful to sleep in or enjoy a leisurely morning swim, walk &/or QS bfast at POP. Good luck :)

You won't make it, sorry. I don't think you could make it even if you could teleport from DHS to Pop.

If your ME pickup time is scheduled for 10:30 (keep in mind that it could be more like 10:15) you really need to be back at the hotel about 9:45. I know it seems early, but you're going to need to get your carry ons from luggage services (which will probably take about 15 minutes) and inevitably, someone will have to go to the bathroom. You really do need to be at the bus stop 15 minutes before your scheduled time - that is the time the bus is supposed to leave.

If you're ADR is 9:05, the chances of being seated on time are slim to none, but even if you are, you will need to eat and be out the door in 15 minutes in order to be at the taxi stand at 9:30.

I would just get breakfast in the food court at Pop.

Yeah, that's cutting it too close. And you still want time to check your checked bags, get checked into flight.... and be at DME at least 15 minutes prior. If 10:30 DME... I'd be back at Pop by 10 the latest... and you never know... what should be 10:30, could always be they schedule you for 10:15 DME.

Taxi from DHS - can't guarantee one will be there and really the bus may be the best bet. Waited in pouring rain last summer for a half hour to get a cab from DHS - there were some other families waiting also, and some had called for a cab and still had no luck.

Plus it all sounds too rushed on your departure day.

Just a thought but why not leave luggage with bell services and then take a taxi to the airport? I would skip a sit down breakfast. Grab something on the go and enjoy those last few rides instead!

Hey,
Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. I scratched the H&V ADR and got a 7:00AM at Chef Mickey's. We are only 2 adults who don't mind getting up early so that works for us. We'll have a good breakfast then head back to pop to say good bye.
