Early Easter & April crowds?

any guesstimations on what crowds might be like in april this year? we've never been in april before because it's a busy time. we'd like to give it a try this year because easter is so early.

we too are going in April at our school vacation because we are hoping that Easter crowds pull more people in March....many other threads have asked similiar question and it seems like Easter breaks are common for many particulary in the south and April breaks for schools and colleges run the gammut from early April to the last week in April...here's hoping that everything is spread out throughout the month.....

But to give you an idea we tried to fly out of Albany NY on Southwest (the only non-stop flight to Orlando) and every flight for Sat 4/17 (start of our break) was sold out in a matter of HOURS!...planning on running into people we know

Many schools in New England have their spring break the weeks of April 18, or April 25 ( mostly New Hampshire). We were there this past April during the school break which was also after Easter and the parks were crowded. Using FP we did not wait in lines too often, but the parks closed earlier these weeks than just the week before, grad nights started up which closed the MK early on weekends. Using Fp and our plans made it so we got to do all that we wanted. Actually one of the worst crowds we ran into was in downtown disney on the nights that the MK closed for grad nights. Most of the other parks were also closed and there was no place else for people to go. Everything there was packed, especially restaurants.

We too are going to be there in April. We usually go in September and it's wonderful! No crowds and weather is wonderful...we are going in April because my DD is turning 5 and it will be the last time we can travel for her birthday with schooling starting for her this fall. I really hope it's not very cool and I'm interested in how busy it will be too.

I am hoping for the best but being prepared for the worst and I can see its already happening. Gheesh. I just read that other post about the southwest flights sold out, well guess what, here on LI, metro NY most of the southwest flights for the last week of april are sold out too. Our flight is lousy, but direct, arriving 7:30 pm. I am making all our ps well before we leave etc. We did easter this past year, only because it coincided with our 3 ds spring break. The weather is much nicer than hot august. I am having a well thought out park plan and now have to deal with the grad nights to adjust everything, I will have a Plan B. We are suppose to join a dvc family down there too. It will be busy for sure. I am already pulling our kids out of school one day so I can get a better direct return flight on Mon. May 2 I think. Hopefully we will be there to catch some soft openings of the new shows and rides. That would be pure disney magic. Get a good plan so you wont be disappointed. Good luck.
