Early Dec Waitlist - Any Hope???

Help! I'm on the waitlist for a 1 bedroom at all 5 Disney Resorts for 12/4 - 12/10. My family REALLY hopes our December waitlist comes through. Anyone else's December waitlist come through or are you still waiting? How long have you been waiting? Just wondering if there is even a glimmer of hope that we'll be going in December.

I wouldn't say there is no hope...but that is a very busy time at the DVC resorts this year...but I hope you have alternative plans just in case...

If you are waitlisted for that entire period as a block (all or nothing), I'd say your chances may be slim. You didn't say how long you've been on the waitlist, so that may play a role, too.

There could be quite a few people ahead of you on the list, and 7 nights straight is an awful long time to come available all at once.

A few suggestions:

1. If you really want to go, I'd make sure you were on the waitlist for a studio as well. I'll take a 1B over a studio anyday, but right now you've got nothing.

2. Try calling MS periodically and see if you can get some of your days at one resort and the rest at another. Again, moving mid-week may not be ideal, but it's better than staying home. With a little luck, you might be able to get 2-3 days at one resort and 2-3 days at another, leaving you left with just one or two days still on the waitlist.

And, if you end up booking a split stay, you can stay on the waitlist and try to eventually consolidate all of your days at one resort. It's a lot easier to get 2 or 3 days straight on the waitlist than it is to get an entire week. While you're waitlisted, if 6 of your 7 nights come available, NOTHING will be booked in your name until that 7th day opens up. And those 6 nights won't be held for you in the meantime, meaning someone else calling for a ressie or on the waitlist could grab them.

I was placed on a waitlist in the beginning of August for a studio at any villa for 2 nights, Dec. 5 and 6. Disney magic worked for me!! Not only did my waitlist come through this Wednesday, but I was able to find this out while I was evacuated from Ivan. Thank goodness my husband had to stay behind and he happened to get the message during Ivan and I was able to call within the 24 hour timeframe. Talk about a close call!! Here's more Disney magic: I was able to get the studio at my home resort which of course would have been my first choice. Good luck with your waitlist!!

Our waitlist came through for Dec 3-10 on Aug 30th!! Hang in there...there is still hope!!

I wouldn't give up hope yet. I called a few weeks ago for our November stay for 7 nights and was told only a couple single nights in a 1BR (we wanted a studio) were available in DVC. From advice on this board, I waitlisted every day individually for BWV, BCV and OKW. Last monday I got the call about increased availability. I actually had a couple choices! I called them back the next day and we ended up doing 3 nights at OKW and 4 at BWV. I've waitlist all my OKW nights at BWV, and waitlisted BWV standard (we currently have preferred).

I'm currently waitlisted for studios at BWV and BCV in early December, for each day individually. I put myself on the waitlist a few weeks ago. The weekend nights came through quickly, but so far, none of the weekday night have come through. I figure that I'll probably give up soon, since I've now planned a trip for October.

If I were you, I'd waitlist each day individually for at least one of the resorts -- either OKW (best availability in general) or whichever one has the most of the nights you want currently available. As others here have said, it's much harder to get a whole week at a time. Depending on how many points you have in your account, you might be able to waitlist each day individually at two or more resorts -- just remember to cancel the days you won't use!

Don't forget to keep checking the rent/trade board to see if someone there has a ressie you can use. I was able to get some of my October nights on points by transferring points to another DVC member in exchange for their ressie.

Hi--I'm still waiting for my waitlist to come through, too...I'm on there for WLV, BCV or BWV for a Studio from 12/4-12/8. No luck yet!! (I've been on there for about a month.)

Let's hope some pixie dust comes both of our ways!

Due to family last minute change I am currently waitlisted for a 1 bedroom the first week. We have a 2 bedroom booked but now that it is only the three of us that is a bit much. If it doesn't come through well I guess we will experience a ridiculous amount of space.

Well, I've been on the waitlist for a standard BWV studio since the 7 month mark for 12/5-12/10...we'll see though. I didn't do the day by day waitlist and just did the whole chunk. Apparntly this method dosen't always work...oh well...my fingers are crossed anyhow!

All the good suggestions have already been made. You have to go day-by-day, take what you can get, and try to piece things together.
