Ear Popping, Scary Characters, and Fires, Oh my.

Alright, Im quite nervous about this report, especially since were off-site staying, 2 park going, no dining plan people. I promise our trip was still interesting though! My biggest fear? No replies! Even if you hate it, just reply and say so! Atleast my fear of no replies will be squashed and I'll bask in the glow of having atleast one reply!

We went to Disney May 6th-14th. It was technically my daughters graduation trip, like how I used that to make her think shes the almightly princess when really I was dying to go back?! Also, my sons first time to Disney and on a plane!

CAST

Me- 37 yr old single mom of a 17 yr old dd and a 7 yr old ds. Went to Disney numerous times when dd was young but havent been since the year before ds was born. After he was born, single motherness set in and we havent been since then. Very excited to go and also worried about DS.

Ds- Very loving 7 yr old. Has Aspegers, ADHD, and SID. Loves any kind of adventure and loves talking to strangers! Loves to run away from me and throw himself on the ground in very crowded places. Also loves to give hugs and kisses!

DD- 17 yr old drama queen. Keeps reminding us this is "her" trip. @@. yeaaaa so you think! Hates flying. Been to Disney a zillion times but not since before ds was born. Is excited to be going on ...say it with me now...."HER" trip!

Mom- 57. Loves the grandkids. Loves vacation and being off work for a week. Owns the timeshare at Vistana. Hasnt been to FL since before ds was born either since they have been trading to go other places since then.

Step-Dad- 73. LOVES the grandkids. will do ANYTHING for them. buy them ANYTHING. Has trouble walking. Needs an electric scooter in the park. Likes to get to the airport 4 hours before the flight leaves. Drives us crazy because he cant get through security due to the metal rod in his back.

Alarm rings at 5am. I look over, why am I getting up at 5am, oh yea because SF(step-father) likes to get to the airport 4 hours before our plane leaves. I then wake up ds who tells me he needs 5 more minutes and dd who is so nervous about flying she proceeds to puke all over her bed 20 minutes after shes up. Get all the luggage outside and packed into the car along with SF and DM (darling mom. BIL is taking us to the airport. Uneventful trip there. Drops us off outside. SF hails a skycab, he loads up all the luggage and tells u to go ahead in he will take care of it all! We already have our boarding passes I printed out so off we go to security. DM, DD, and DS get through, no problem. Im across from SF and we both are going through. I beep, he beeps. I take off my jewerly, he takes off his. I go through again, I beep, he goes through again he beeps. They make him go into a "special" area behind a rope. He has to take off his shoes. They wave the wand over him. He beeps, beeps, beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. They are convinced he has a bomb planted under his shirt. Now he takes his shirt off. Continues to beep. The guards look at eachother as if they are contemplating wethier to perform surgery or just believe he *really does have a metal rod in his back. Phew, they let him go. Oh no, all these security guys are surrounding me. "DO YOU KNOW THE LIGHTER POLICY?!?!!?!?!" Umm, well no actually I don't. Apparently I cant have lighters. Duh, should of known that. So what am I going to do. Well DUH on you, of course I will choose to dispose of them, I'm not running home to return them to safety.

Finally, were all through security, oh look at that. Its 7:00! We only have 2 hours until we board! Yay! Lets go to Mcdonalds. Oh you mean to go to Mcdoanlds we have to go back and get all our ID's and boarding passes and go through security again? No thanks, packaged wheat-thins on the bottom of Mom's carry-on will do. We proceed to pay 20 Q the game I should of NEVER EVER bought DS and wait and wait....and wait. Finally we get to board! and first since SF is disabled. We find our seats. Perfect. Then we sit and wait and wait and wait. DD starts freaking out when they show the safety video. DS is mad he has to turn off his gameboy. But hes excited, so excited to be on a real live plane!

We ready for take-off...wait whats that? "MOM MY EARS ARE BROKE MY VOICE IS WRONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG". No, No ds its just the pressure change, here eat some goldfish. He eats one. Nope they arent better. He hates flying and he's never getting on another plane AGAIN. Yep, whatever you say son. Were up. Ears seem fixed. We fly for about an hour.Were ready to make our desend into the Charlotte Douglous International Airport. DD starts wailing. She is really my ear -problem prone kid. Now shes crying. Intense pain in her ears. I quickly slip the ear phones on. Now shes mad, I dont even care about her, how dare I?! I ask her what I should do, NOTHING NEVERMIND. Okay, fine with me. Earphones back on. Now the little creature next to me is feverently elbowing me. His ears are once again broken. I start praying. Please get me on the ground ASAP, my kids are driving me nuts.

We land. Were excited. Ears are better. We get off and right there theres a golf cart waiting to take all five us to our next gate, yep better hurry sir, we only have a 4 hour layover! Yep you heard right, 4 hours. We get to the gate, we wonder, we eat, we shop, we play the dreaded 20 Q, we eat, we wonder, oh its finally time to board at 2:30. This flight is praise God, uneventful.

We are finally in DISNEY. We go down to baggage and wait. SF and DM go to pick up the rental car awhile. We realize we have no idea what their luggage looks like. We find a skycab. He has the stickers and says he will find the luggage. Thanks Sir! Oh, he found it all, time to go to Alamo! We meet up with SF and DM, oh yea, Alamo charged us 72 dollars for Gas, but lucky us, we dont have to fill up before we return. What do you mean 72 dollars?! DM says shes not concerned. Well okay.

We pick out a Buick Rendezous. Nice and Roomy. Fits everything.

We arrive at Vistana. Since we came a day early we have to stay in a different room for one night. Drats. They give us a Falls room. We normally stay in Palms which we will be moving to tomorrow for the week. Thankfully. We hate the falls. To small. We go to the BBQ at Vistana and take DS swimming for alittle. Then to bed.

My nephew has what your son has. I told my sister about the documentation to take along, so they could receive the special badge for their son to wear. My bil was being so dumb and obnoxious about going to WDW, he kept telling his boys it was "Fake World"

When they got home, my bil apologized "to me" and told me this was the best vacation they ever had. They are used to their sons melt downs and hyperness and they said the badge was such a plus. When their son saw something he wanted to go on, "like the train" they went on and around the park 3 times with no waiting. They didn't have to tell him no and totally avoided his outburst.
