Am I understanding correctly, that each person in your party needs a FP? I thought it was by group. So one member cannot go get FPs for everyone else, who might be slower or getting a drink or taking a bathroom break? We would all be together when we go to the ride, but I can't see us all crowded around the FP machine.:crowded:

Anyone know for sure how this works?

Hi
Every member of your party needs a fastpass. I usually get everyones passes and get the fastpasses.
Everyone does not have to be there you just need their pass.
Hope this helps!

What most people do is give all their park passes to one person who then goes over to the Fast Pass machine and enters the tickets one by one. I have seen people with many park passes doing this for their group. They then collect all the Fast Passes from the machine and head back to their group.
You are correct that it makes no sense for each individual in the group to go up to the Fast Pass machines. Just make sure you take all your park passes and Fast Passes before leaving the area.
By the way, YES, each person with a park admission MUST have a separate Fast Pass to use the FP entry. They WILL check at each attraction.....no exceptions.

One person can take all your tickets to get the FPs, but be careful, it can be time consuming for a large amount and people might get annoyed w/ you. Each ticket has to be inserted one at a time. If you have a large group, you may want to send a couple people to the machines. Make sure you get a FP for each ticket b/c they will collect one from each of you as you at the ride. Have a great trip! :)

The first time we ever used FP was at DL in 99. We were going to stop for lunch but were planning on doing SM afterward. So bil and nephew took all our tickets (9 of us) and went to SM while the rest of us ordered lunch and got tables at Cafe Orleans. We were just paying for our lunch when they showed up. By the time we got done with lunch we headed to SM and looked in the store for a few minutes and it was our time.

If you have a large group, having more than one person go get the FP is the best idea. If there is only a few of you, one person could easily get the FP, but they have to have all the admission tickets to get them.

Also with a large group, this will give those that need it a break and time to get a drink, something to eat, bathroom break etc.

a large group of FP's having two consecutive time frames on them from the same machine. Someones time may be 10 minutes or so later than the rest of the groups as happened to us. You will just have to wait the extra time so all can go together. Just be sure to check the times on the FP's as they will not let anyone in ahead of the time listed. Hope I have made sense.

Everyone needs a FP. I carry all our AP's so many times I went and got our FP's while the rest of my family waited for me.

As for the time difference- its done by set # of FPs (least it was in 01) That after a designated # of FPs were given for say 10-11am the time would switch to 10:05-11:05 for another round of FPs- etc

so if you do happen to be the "last one" for the time group then people may have different times by 5 minutes- just wait till the last one is valid then you are all good to go

If we are at EPCOT (say with 5 AP), then head to the BWV for an afternoon break, can 1 of us proceed to MGM with all 5 AP and get a FP for TOT that night? Or do we all have to enter THAT park first, meaning we could all enter the gate and 4 could go right back to BWV but what a pain.

1. I believe that the pass used in the fast pass machine must have been used to enter the park in which the ride is located. If you want a FP for TOT, then the admission pass you put in to the FP machine must have been used to enter the park that day.

2. You can't go to the fast pass machine and say you want a fast pass for a particular return time. You get a fast pass for the return time that they are distributing at that time.

So, I don't think your plan will work.

Or you could go in and out and in and out and in ,etc, at MGM using a different AP each time to 'activate' the pass for use in the fastpass machines...

Well, if you decide not to use FastPass, you'll have a great opportunity to get reacquainted during those 45 minutes crowded together in the standby line.

Oh, how I love breezing by those folks who seem to enjoy the lines...

Won't work for AP's, your fingers in the turnstile finger scanner won't match. At any rate very cumbersome and you might be caught as a suspicious person going 'round 'n 'round. Also for this reason be sure each person gets back his own AP, writing names on the pass with a non-washable ink will help.

Good idea, go in and out with the hoppers (AP wont work) then proceed to the FP and hope the return times are acceptable. We will have 5 with AP and 10 with hoppers and not everyone will want RNR or TOT anyway, so I could obtain 11 FP with only 1 person going over to MGM. Would I be looked at oddly if I go in and out 10 times, is this illegal and or frowned upon even if I paid for the hoppers? Would it not be more odd to have 11 of us go through the gate and turn around and immediately leave?

Forgot about the AP finger-thingy... :o

Isn't your name put on the AP to start with? How else will the CMs know it's yours? If the finger-thingy doesn't work, won't they check for a photo ID of you, and match the name to the one on the AP?

Yes, each person's name is on the AP. That way if the finger scan doesn't work, they can check you ID.

I don't think I would try having one person go in and out for all of the hoppers. Major hassle for one thing. If the line is long this could take forever and even if it is not, I don't think the CMs would be too impressed. Hoppers are not transferrable either. At the very least, be sure that person does not bring a bag with them!

jade1:

I don't think this will work. First off, I think you would be looked at oddly and a CM may say something to you. Even if all these tickets are yours, why would you be wasting days on 10 park hoppers to enter just once? They might think you're up to something. Secondly, when your family members go to use those park hoppers later they may not be allowed admittance as the passes will show that they were used earlier that day and yet no one will have hand stamps (except you).

Good points, is the handstamp different from the one we would all have from EPCOT compared to MGM? Thanks.

Other option of course is have everyone ride the boat from EPCOT to MGM (about 1/2 hour?), go in to MGM and leave with the MGM handstamp and boat back to BWV and one go up and get the FP's. Most likely less than an hour right?

jade1--I think the main problem with your plan is that you are assuming that the FP time will be for a convenient time that evening. What time of year are you going? If it is a busy time, the FP may be gone for the day. Conversely, if it is a slow time the FP return may be for an hour later. I would think that it would be much easier to go to EMH and just ride RNR or ToT then or get FP when you are going to be in MGM anyway.

If you all have to spend an hour just going to MGM and getting FP while you could be at the pool or what have you, you really haven't saved yourselves anytime over just waiting in the standby line when you get there. An hour to get FP or an hour or less to stand in line? See my point?
